What is a Slatmill?
A slatmill is a self-propelled treadmill used to exercise dogs for both physical and mental stimulation. Unlike traditional electric treadmills, the dog controls the speed of the slatmill making it much safer, if the dog doesn’t want to run they simply stop moving and the slatmill will stop.
A common misconception is that the dogs are being forced to run since they are chained to the slatmill, this couldn’t be further from the truth. For dogs that can run full sprint it helps them keep their balance so that they don’t fly all over the place while running!
