We just got the PennHip report back for our German import stud Gunnar. 🤩 wow!

These results definitely deserve a shoutout.

PennHip is a multifaceted radiographic hip screening method that measures hip joint laxity and is considered superior to the more common screening tools of the OFA in predicting the onset of osteoarthritis/ a hallmark of hip dysplasia.

With his very low distraction index of 0.19 and 0.24 he is in the top 5% of tightest hips for his breed (as submitted to PennHip) the average of the breed is 0.5

Super proud of our boy and his breeders in Germany that follow many stringent rules as members of their breeding club. Gunnar’s pedigree also has exceptional longevity for the breed with less common lines helping to preserve genetic diversity.

Excited to see what he will contribute to our program and to the breed in general 🥰
