Lots going on this week. Today the pups were introduced to the BALANCE BOARD. This is for both play and to help them strengthen their balance and stabilization. Plus....it is super fun to watch them!
PUPPY GRUEL....what is it and why do some people train puppies on it.
Well, the simple answer.....it all depends on the development of the pups. We believe in a smooth transition for our pups, no matter what the activity is. Eating, potty training, exploration, play, introduction, etc.
Puppy gruel starts out very milky and thin like mama's milk. It is warmed up so that the temperature of the gruel is also on the warm side for them. With each passing day, the gruel becomes thicker and closer to room temperature. Eventually, usually over a 1 1/2 week to 2 week period, the pups are fully adapt to dry Puppy food and able to eat on their own. This is important, especially with a larger litter, as mama is not able to sustain and support enough milk to adequately feed them as they grow. NATURE.
So how do we know when to start them on this transition 🤔. The simple answer...when we notice mama is weening them and reducing their feeding time. We also don't move straight to a dry-wet or canned food because often the pups do not have any teeth yet. As is the case with our current litter, we feel those choppers right at the gumline and ready to surface, but they have not broken through for any of the pups yet.
So, bottom line......PUPPY GRUEL TIME!

The pups turned 2 weeks old Monday! The activity is beginning. We have wobble walking and eyes beginning to crack open. Happy first day of summer!

We heard Benny (formerly Toby) is doing amazing. He is a bit of a stinker sometimes, but loved none the less!

Then there were two. Toby and Jet get some quality time with mom and dad outside today.
Snow in March! These pups do not mind one bit, although they need a good home to cuddle up in after their shenanigans.
We have reduced the price to $1000 each. We really just want them to find a good home soon. Remember, you will receive an AKC Purebred Standard Poodle puppy that is microchipped, a goodie bag and a thumbdrive with all their photos and videos.
