We need help.
This is Sol. For those who didn’t follow her story on my social media a couple weeks ago, here it is.
My boyfriend and I recently went on a trip to Brazil and 2 days before our return flight, we found Sol on the side of the road. Sol was extremely dehydrated and skinny, we stopped to offer her water and some snacks we had in the car, but after realizing how weak she was, we couldn’t leave her there. We put her in the car and drove her to a nearby veterinary clinic.
Unfortunately, we found out at the clinic that she was not only dehydrated and malnourished, but also positive for Canine Distemper, a contagious and serious disease caused by a virus that attacks the respiratory, gastrointestinal and nervous systems of unvaccinated dogs.
After over $500 and 2 long days of struggling to find a foster family that would be willing to keep Sol during her treatment, we were finally able to place her in a home with someone who will be watching her for about 40 days.
The really hard part comes now. As soon as Sol is done with her treatment for Distemper in about 3 weeks, we want to bring her to the States and give her a chance to a happy life in a loving home.
For those who don’t know, bringing a dog to the US from a South American country is quite hard and expensive. Between tests, vaccines, certificates and flight tickets, we’d be spending almost $3k. That’s where we need help.
We are hoping that anyone with a loving heart for animals would help us give Sol the life she deserves by donating to get her here.
Even the smallest donation would help. We have about a month to raise as much as possible to make this possible.
If you can’t donate, please help us by sharing our story and letting as many people as possible know. We are counting on our community.
