I’ve come across too many fake service dogs & emotional support dogs who are really just suffering from different levels of separation anxiety 🤦🏻
Emotional support & service work is a TRAINED SKILL. Do not expect your dog/puppy to come home & offer you these courtesies without having spent any time with them building on & teaching them how they can be of service to you.
Therapy is wildly overlooked. People tend to think therapy means you’re “Crazy” when really the goal is to help you organize your thoughts. Imagine your mind as a messy room… Sometimes you can clean the mess yourself, & other times the room gets so messy that it can seem almost impossible without help.
There’s no shame in asking for help & getting yourself the help you need. Just don’t ignore the mess… or project your trauma onto your dog.
