Babies due soon and we may even have some from Flower the mom of the F Troop. She has been here with us a few years but hasn't had babies here. She's an older gal and has had many babies with her boyfriend Forest. They have always had 3 but only will raise 1 so we are watching her on camera.

Steamed veggies for the week last night so I figured I would show what we use for our monks 😎🤘👍. Sweet potatoes, green beans, celery, rutabaga, zucchini, broccoli, pumpkin, cabbage and a ripped up rotisserie chicken. I mix it all together and add some Parmesan cheese. The marms love it and it is super healthy for them 👍👍👍👍 🐒

Check your state,city and county primate laws. A LOT of legal states have banned areas.
We do not sell to people with kids. Kids not only carry germs that will kill a small monkey. The small monkeys don't like kids once they reach sexual maturity. Some even get territorial at just a few months old. Now don't comment if you have a marm that you think likes your kid, trust me they don't. Some will tolerate kids for a period of time until one day they decide that game is over. They can do a lot of damage very fast and you can be charged with child endangerment and the monkey usually gets euthanized. I care about my monkeys more than anyone that wants to test my theory.
If you work full-time a single monkey is not for you. They need a lot of attention or they become aggressive and depressed. Depression in marmosets can lead to self mutilation or anorexia. Yes, they can get anorexia and will literally starve themselves to death.

Find a vet with experience with small monkeys, a lot of them that claim to be primate vets don't really know the issues that can happen with the smaller guys and they can't be treated like the bigger monkeys. These guys will NEED to be neutered between 6 and 8 months. GAS ONLY, never let them give injectable sedation they may not wake up.

The bigger kids (4 weeks old) got moved out of their bubble (incubator) they are not too happy about the situation. They get as flat as they can when they are nervous. Looks like starfish lol! I had to keep the little guys (1 week old) in a tiny carrier inside the incubator and they need some space to scent blankets now :)

It seems a lot of breeders are still giving out dangerous information when it come to the proper lighting. Small monkeys NEED these lights to live. If your monkeys face is pale you are not using the right lights. Without them they can not absorb calcium and will get metabolic bone disease. The lights should be on from sunrise to sunset. They should have a basking shelf or hammock within 12 inches of the light but have plenty of room to move away from it. That is another reason I will not sell to someone that works full-time not only does it mentally destroy them to be alone all the time. They suffer from MBD because people don't leave their light on while they are gone all damn day. These little guys should have black faces, not beige or peach, BLACK. And that goes for all marmosets even geoffreys.

What is bloat? Bloat is another deadly condition in small monkeys but the bigger ones can also get it. Just like in human infants you have to prevent air bubbles from going into baby marms. I prefer using the clear silicone tips on my syringes so I can see and express the air bubbles before and during feedings. If you don't use a tip or use a brown ni**le you can't see or catch the air bubbles before they go into the baby. Bloat is an accumulation of gas in the digestive tract and if you catch it really early they can be saved with a drop of infant gas drops. I posted a couple pics of my little girl and a syringe with an air bubble. The first pic is Tourmaline before she ate and the second is after she ate. Belly's are more obvious when they are younger but I don't have a younger one right now, so she will have to be my model. (Tourmaline does not have bloat, just showing an empty belly compared to a full one) You want to make sure their belly's go all the way down between feedings. If it's time for them to eat and their belly's are really big that's not normal and they most likely have bloat :( Although bloat is more common in very young baby's that are being hand fed, adults can also get gas and it's dangerous for them as well. If they lay around trying to put pressure on their belly or crouch like they are in pain they may have gas or constipation. This may also cause them to bite you because they want you to know something is wrong. You can try a drop of gas relief and a couple drops of mineral oil or olive oil for constipation. Just put it on a mini marshmallow. BUT If after a couple hours it doesn't get better they need to see a vet. Don't wait around getting advice on FB go to a vet and get x-rays and the right medication.

We are a small family breeder based in Punta Gorda Southwest Florida and we are licensed by Florida Fish and Wildlife and USDA. We breed Marmosets, Cotton Top Tamarins, capuchins, macaque and Red Handed Tamarins, some of the smallest monkeys in the world weighing under 1 pound when adult. These little guys come from the Atlantic Coastal Forest of Brazil and Columbia , and are known as New World Monkeys.

PLEASE NOTE – Like most breeders we rarely, if ever, have monkeys waiting for homes, we have a waiting list. If you ask us how long that is we often don’t know because its a list of people we call when we have babies… Some times the first on the list says yes, other times 20 people aren’t ready so #21 gets the monkey and the list is much shorter BUT generally it can be from 6 months to over a year. So plan well ahead !
