🐾 Patrick's Chocolate Adventure 🍫🐶
Say hi to Patrick! This sweet (and slightly mischievous) pup visited us today after sneaking into a box of chocolates. Thankfully, his humans acted quickly and brought him straight to the clinic. After some care and monitoring, Patrick is doing well, but this serves as an important reminder about chocolate and our furry friends.
Why is chocolate dangerous for dogs?
Chocolate contains theobromine and caffeine, which dogs cannot metabolize effectively. Even small amounts can lead to symptoms like:
Vomiting or diarrhea
Rapid breathing
Increased heart rate
Seizures in severe cases
What should you do if your dog eats chocolate?
1️⃣ Stay calm and note how much and what type of chocolate they ate (dark chocolate is the most dangerous).
2️⃣ Call your vet immediately for advice.
3️⃣ Bring your dog in for care—timing is critical!
Patrick's adventure ended safely thanks to his quick-thinking humans. Keep those sweet treats stored out of paw’s reach to avoid a similar scare!
