UPDATE on our Cat STRONG coming Monday 12/9/24.

FUN POST: A Big THANK YOU to Omahoma Bobs BBQ of Wooster, Ohio. Omahoma Bob's Barbeque Donated tonight some of their Fresh, Super Delicious, almost zero fat PULLED PORK for our cats. It's REALLY, REALLY GOOD!!

Approximately every 4-6 weeks we get a pound of their Pulled Pork due to the Quality, Taste and low sodium for our cats. Their food is not only people approved, but CATIFY CAT APPROVED!! I went in this afternoon for my pork and one of the owners/managers threw in an extra pound as a donation. That was Greatly Appreciated, this allows our cats to have a special treat for several days!! Thank You Omahoma Bobs BBQ for your Kindness. They always recognize me every time I go in!! If you are ever in Downtown Wooster, you have to try their Food/extensive menu for a meal or visit their website at http://www.omahomabobsbbq.com

GIVING TUESDAY: We are $425 Away ($650 Raised since 11/17/24) for our Now 16 Month Old Kitten STRONG.... PLEASE HELP this Giving Tuesday to allow him to be CONE & CAGE Free. SEE our NOVEMBER 17TH Post (Two posts below this post) for the FULL STORY...

Strong SO DESIRES to be like a Normal Cat, after now $3400+ in vet & care he is so close and just needs the Tail Amputation Surgery & Recovery. Currently he is out of the cage 12-14 hours a day with a tightly wrapped, wood reinforced tail protector and 10-12 hours a day coned in a cage. Due to his previous health issues (now cleared) Strong did not have a real kitten life and we are trying to finish out his health issues to live a normal, uncaged & unconed life.

If you can help with Strong’s Upcoming Surgery/Vet Bills: We Will Thank You!! We are 501c3, so let us know if you need a receipt.

Since our LAST POST about Strong (11/17/24) We have raised $400 so far of the $1000+ needed. THANK YOU to the folks who have Donated toward Strong's Tail Amputation so he can be CONE FREE and live a normal life. If you would like to help, ways to donate are at the end of this post. PLEASE HELP, We would greatly appreciate it!!

A BIG THANK YOU to Dyson Service Center We at Catify use EIGHT of the Dyson V10 & V11 Cordless Vacuums with the Motorized Heads that have "Hair Removal Vanes", which are AWESOME when you are caring for 24+ Cats in your home!! They have been Very Reliable and when we have had any issues (minor) This Dyson Service Center has been AWESOME in handling our issues and have given us great service so that we were never down. We have TRIED Other Vacuums and these Dyson V10 & V11's used daily and work VERY WELL!! Thank You Dyson for Your Support!!

A Big THANK YOU to Purina for your Monthly Support of Catify with three coupons monthly with a $49.99 value each for cases of Purina Pro Plan Vital Systems Moist Food, that is 36 Cases of food annually, which for us using a case a day is over a months worth of moist food! Thanks Again!!

To Our Monthly Supporters and individual donors, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for all that you do, your support, whether monthly or one time helps for the most part with our Veterinarian Bills that we have had with our cats care.

Thank You PetSmart of Wooster and PetSmart Charities for your Support, Kindness and Help with our Organization !! The staff at the Wooster, Ohio PetSmart Store are AWESOME and have always treated us Very Well !! PetSmart Charities has us approved to be able to place our cats with them for adoption in their store. We have not used that service yet as most all the cats we took from rescues either require help on a regular basis or due to helping them through issues they originally had to where they are today (so much better), it would not be fair to them to stress them out all over again from such a major change (environment, location & people change).

If you can help with Strong’s Upcoming Surgery/Vet Bills: We Will Thank You!! We are 501c3, so let us know if you need a receipt.

We NEED YOUR HELP for our 15 Month Old Kitten STRONG.... A FEW PICTURES are Graphic in Nature.

Most of our Followers know our Rescue STRONG who was 4 weeks old when we rescued him in September 2023 in front of PNC Bank, Orrville, Ohio who was HIT by a VEHICLE. Search our FB Posts using the words STRONG and/or KITTEN from 09/2023 Through Today.

SHORT STORY: We are NOW at the Point of having to do a TAIL AMPUTATION (we are SO SAD). When we FIRST took Strong....... He had the Following Wrong with him:

* Was Hit by an Auto Vehicle, had a fractured hip
* Lost Use of his TAIL (now has crooked movement, NO FEELING except PAIN SURGES)
* Lost Use of his Bladder & Bowels
* Had Fleas, Roundworms & Tapeworms
* Had a Parasite: Giardia
* Had to be EXPRESSED for his Bladder (for two weeks+) and had Uncontrollable Diarrhea (for almost 3 months) Not to forget well OVER 300+ Baths, many BACK TO BACK!!
* On PRESCRIPTION FOOD: Royal Canin PD Moist & Gastrointestinal Dry Food ($5.25 a day for 8 months, $157 Monthly)
* Beginning at 9 months plus, we were FINALLY able to start to wean Strong off the prescription food without dealing with bouts of Diarrhea.
* Bladder & Bowels were functioning well while under prescription food and through today no more digestive/bowel issues.
* Fleas & Worms were gone by 8 weeks, Parasite gone by 4 months (came back once during that time)
* Minimal use of the tail came back but NO FEELING, but enough to get it out of the way going potty.
* It was suggested by our Vets to Amputate his tail at 10 months as Strong STARTED having PAIN SURGE ATTACKS at the area you will see in the Pictures Attached.
* We opted to go the extra expense with Chiropractic & Acupuncture Treatments for five months to see if that would help KEEP his tail. While there HAS BEEN Improvement in Usage/Movement, we still have NO FEELING in it except for when these Pain Surges come. He has had as many as THREE attacks in 30 minutes to 1 within 3 1/2 Weeks, they are very RANDOM, but when they come, we have NO NOTICE and Strong will just BITE the HECK out of that area to make it stop, with blood going everywhere.

Unfortunately, we HAVE TO Cage Him for 12 hours a day and we wrap his tail in Wooden Popsicle Sticks by day to give him CONE FREEDOM and only while we are able to watch him for the most part. It's time to let STRONG lead a Normal life, Uncaged and UNCONED. It breaks our heart to make him go through this and he is SUCH a Loving Cat, but we can't make him live like that the rest of his life.

We have NOT asked much this year for donations (and we are this year $12,000+ deficit in vet bills alone for all of our cats) but we are asking for your help with this $1000 Surgery (See Estimate Pic) Ours will be right at $1000 and is a tricky surgery as we don't want any more NERVES Damaged in the process. If you can HELP, it would be greatly appreciated. THANK YOU.

We have Invested to date for Strong's Care: $1,804.73 Orrville Vets (See Pics) $336.00 For Dancing Paws Animal Wellness (Chiropractic) & $1256+ to Chewy for Prescription Food, Total: $3,396.73 with only close to $500 that came in donations for his care.

If you can help with Strong’s Upcoming Surgery/Vet Bills: We Will Thank You!! We are 501c3, so let us know if you need a receipt.

PROPERTY SEARCH UPDATE: As most of you know from our August 9th Facebook Post, we had put an offer in on a church building that was for sale. Unfortunately, another buyer had offered more than we were willing to pay due to the upgrades that we would need to do to the building, especially being a 501c3 operating on donations only. If you did not see the pictures of this church, please look at the August 9th Facebook Post, as this would have the potential to serve up to 250-300 cats.

We SINCE LEARNED that the buyer backed out of the deal and the property is still available. Yesterday we had a conversation with the United Methodist Church District in Canton, and we are in the process this weekend to resubmit our offer with an appeal expressing how this building will still be serving not only multiple people, communities & counties, but how it will HELP US HELP SO MANY Cats and that for us is Truly a Ministry.

How quickly we will hear back we do not know, but this time our information will be going directly to three different individuals. We will keep everyone posted as soon as we hear anything. Otherwise we have been looking for other suitable locations and ones that could even house a home for us and property for a new or existing building already there.

I am SO PROUD of my Wife, Kris. On July 30th, 2024, we posted about Kris going back to college (3 day weekends each month) from March through July of this year to learn about Chiropractic Care for Animals..... Cats, Dogs & Horses primarily. After 217 Continuing Ed Hours/Course and you can EASILY add another 200 hours study time, AS WELL as working FULL TIME doing Chiropractic for her patients, Kris went to be tested for Certification in Mid September to which she would learn the results after 6 weeks from testing.

October 30th, she learned she passed and is now certified to be able to adjust animals. Kris has already been a chiropractor for people for 24 years now. So now Kris will be adding on new services in the near future as soon as we are able to work out the Logistics for adding this on. This WAS part of our Plan for Catify when we first started our organization as it has and is helping several cats we have had such treatment under our care.

In the near future, we will be offering chiropractic adjustments for cats/dogs and ultimately horses once we work out the logistics on how we can implement these services at the two locations my wife currently has or if we can secure a facility shortly. An UPDATE on our Facility Goals and happenings will be posted on Wednesday 11/13/24 once I get some answers back that I am working on.

Congratulations Kris!! I, Your Husband, am So Proud of You and Love You !! 😍

FINALLY... Update 4 of 5... Good OPTION for ALL RESCUES to Raise Funds!!

We follow a large number of Cat or Cat/Dog Rescues here in Ohio and across the U.S. SADLY, with MOST ALL Rescues, Financial Donations & Support is down across the board this year. Since I use to do eBay for years, very successful at it, we converted our account to a Non-Profit Account with 100% of the sales (minus ONLY lowered Credit Card Fees & NO eBay Fees). We have found that many folks who would LIKE to Donate just don't have the funds to do so.

However, those SAME FOLKS have ITEMS OF VALUE they no Longer want. SO.... We started to sell them as a ongoing fundraiser. We started Mid-September, listing items ONLY when I have time. So far, we have made $ 2174.50 to which we have applied towards our $12,000+ in vet bills for this year so far.

What we don't have listed yet is FIVE Original, Vintage IGT Slot Machines ( Should bring $3000+), An Entire Vintage American Flyer Train Set ( Should bring $300-$500), A Chiropractic Motorized Adjusting Table ( Should bring $350-$500) and we have up now just a few items that could bring $8000 - $10,000)

Info for RESCUES: Donations like this, the Donor CAN receive a Tax Receipt from your 501c3 Rescue. One of Two Ways......(check with your CPA/ACCOUNTANT for the laws) The way "WE" understand it is: Option #1: Receipt acknowledging the ITEM(S), very descriptive, and the DONOR will place the value on it (with help from THEIR CPA) or Option #2: Receipt acknowledging the ITEM(S) AND the Dollar Amount they ACTUALLY SOLD FOR on eBay (recommended to include a Printout from eBay on the sale prices.

If You have items you would like to donate to our rescue, just message us. We are asking for items that would sell for at least $75+ for an individual item or at least $25+ Each if you have several of the same item. Tax Receipts can be provided.

If you have an eBay Account, you can view our CURRENT and Future listings here: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?item=355130948996&rt=nc&_trksid=p4429486.m3561.l170197&_ssn=catifycafeadoptions

Cat Updates: Monday Night, Finally Update 4 of 5 that we have been trying to do.

Friday, October 11th, 2024 at 10am, our hearts were crushed ONCE AGAIN!!! We Lost SOPHIE, so very expectantly. Sophie (Mother to Woolley & Mouse) Mouse cross the rainbow bridge May 12th, 2023 from cancer. We took these three cats 08/2022, from Brecksville, Ohio when their Human Passed Away, and no one would take them without just euthanizing them due to their age of 13+. We had room at that time.

Thursday Night, October 10th, at midnight, Sophie and Woolley were loved on, given treats, lots of purrs from Sophie and kisses. Everything was normal for Sophie. Friday Morning, 6:20am as I went into her room, she was staggering in the litterbox, did BOTH #1 & #2 and promptly FELL OUT of the litter box and did not move except for her head. We stayed with her until we left for the vets at 8:35am.

Unfortunately, they found a LARGE MASS pushing up against the Heart and Esophagus and from a different x-ray view, looked like it was affecting the liver and at the time of the vet visit, had some purple gums. Sophie DID around 9am regain being able to get up and walk a little, but was whimpering and slightly crying with her steps. Sophie PRIOR to Friday morning never had any episodes or issues like this.

This loss, just REAFIRMS to me to ALWAYS show your love to the people and pet family you have at ALL TIMES as you never know when something like this will happen!! Sophie & I were very fortunate and had a 25 minute cat nap Thursday afternoon. She would always curl up against my neck and face and just PURR. Sophie's Soft Touch, Purrs and Kisses and always LOTS of Loving will be Greatly MISSED, but never forgotten!! RIP Sophie !!

As to STRONG.... Slowly Improving, has only had three tail attacks in the last 5 1/2 week, which is a HUGE reduction from where they were and we feel more movement yet. Still No feeling in the tail, so we will continue this lengthy and costly process.

JETHRO, 5+ weeks ago had dental surgery (13 teeth removed) and it has been a SLOW Recovery for him, but today he is mostly better.

Update on our "Offer Submitted" for the property we posted about on August 9th, 2024 (See Post). The Church Board (Property Owners) decided to go with the other offer as it was higher than ours. We based "OUR Offer" based on work needed to be done, like roof replacement (50+ & 130+ Years Old), Insulation ADDED to which it had none (Gas bill for last December was $600+ for a part-time open church, we would be 24/7 !!!!!) and several other things that we would have needed to do.

However, the realtor also said there is always a chance of things not working out with the other buyer (based on their contingencies) and they will let us know if that happens!! With that said, we will continue to search for a temporary place (that we will own/buy) and will update you as to our thought process in the next couple of weeks..... Next post about the FOUR of 5 updates that we are doing, we are working on the update itself to be able to show you, before we post about it.
