🐾 So yesterday was a big day for me. Though I've been petsitting since 2018, yesterday marked 2 years since I started In The Dog's House!🎉 I figured out that since I've officially started, I have had the privilege of taking care of about 150 animals 🥰. Honestly the most time consuming thing about this post, was narrowing down what photos I wanted to share with you all! 😂

🙏 To say I'm grateful doesn't even begin to cover it. I'm so thankful for the experiences I've had and the lessons I've learned from them. One challenge I've faced this year is there were quite a number of cancelations. Due to this becoming a more regular issue, I am working on coming up with a cancelation policy effective starting in the Fall. I will be sure to keep you all updated on that. 💟 The only regret I have from this year that will become a goal of mine for year 3, is I need to get back into more farm/livestock care. I miss it more than I realize!

💖 However, I am deeply humbled that you all trust me to look after some of the most precious souls in your life. It's been a hard year as it was marked with several losses 🌈 and I have felt each one of them immensely. However, I am elated that you trust me so much, that you have gone on to recommend me to family, friends and even strangers.

🗣 Unless you are a small business owner, you have no idea what that referral means to me. When you refer me, you're helping me grow my business. And because of that, I cannot express my gratitude enough! So to all of you, I simply say "THANK YOU"! I can't wait to see how my business grows in the next year! 😁

🐾 My week in review:

It was another light week. 🥵 Due to the heat, some walks got canceled earlier in the week. Your dog's health is more important to me than any amount of money and I won't risk it!

🐶 I had a Drop In on Charlie
🐕 One walk with Bentley
🐕‍🦺 One walk with Lily & Max
🤝 And a Meet & Greet with a very handsome boy!

🗨 And an FYI on my meet & greets, they are required before I start any services with a new client and they are complimentary (aka 🆓️). It boggles my brain that fellow sitters even charge for one! Yes, I understand they're probably charging for gas and their time, but for me, it isn't about that. It's about peace of mind for everyone involved (myself, the potential clients, and the pets). I understand that some people & pets are not always a good fit and I'm not going to take someone's money if it's not going to work out.

🐾 Hey all! Cody & I got home last night from a series of Overnights that we started last Saturday.

🐕‍🦺🐶🐈‍⬛ Please welcome Jax, Maggie, Duke & Jerry to the In The Dog's House family! I've known Jax, Maggie & Jerry for a little while now as I use to care for them as an Independent Contractor with another pet sitting company. When their owner reached out to see if I was available, I couldn't pass up the opportunity as these guys were always some of my favorites to spend time with. They are just the sweetest and they actually WANT to spend time with you! 🥰

🐕 Duke is a big puppy new to their crew since I last cared for them, but he is an absolute sweetheart! It was a blast getting to know his personality and he constantly had me laughing with some sort of shenanigans! 🤣

🙏 I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend my 4th of July! I hope you all are enjoying the remainder of your holiday weekend! ❤🤍💙

🥰 These two do wonders for my soul! I could be having the worst day and just 30 minutes with them will cheer me right up.

🐾 Well technically my week started last Sunday with some Drop In's. However, this particular client's pets are still under my care for another day before I am out of the area on Overnights for a week. And even once my services with them finish up tomorrow, my client is still away for a couple of days and has another caretaker dropping in on them. So per my policy, I will hold off on sharing their pics. I do have A LOT of photos of them that I may give them their own special post at some point next week, so stay tuned! 😊

♥️ Here is the rest of my week in review:

🐕 Bentley and I had 3 walks this week. Thank God we had less heat & humidity compared to last week so our walks were much more pleasant for both of us!

🐶 I had a Drop In on Charlie who is in his "old man era" and really didn't want to go out as is evident by his facial expressions 😅.

🐕‍🦺 And I only had one walk with Lily & Max today, but a gorgeous walk it was! Can I have 364 more days like today?

🎂 Tomorrow, I get to celebrate my beautiful niece's 4th birthday before starting a week of Overnights in the evening. It is crucial to maintain a healthy work/life balance and I am grateful to be able to make my own hours and for clients who understand the importance of quality family time! 🙏 So thank you & may you all have a great weekend! 💖

Drop In's, Walks, and Daytime Companionship will continue depending on my availability. Please check your dates with me if you are not a regularly scheduled client.

📆 Friday, September 27th - Tuesday, October 1st: NO SERVICES AVAILABLE due to it being the weekend of my wedding. I will pick back up with my normal schedule starting Wednesday, October 2nd.

🧡 It was a brutal week with these high temps, but I'm happy to say all my clients and I made it through.

🐾Here is my week in review:

🐇 I started last Friday with a series of Drop In's on Boonie, the bunny. He was a sweet, but shy boy. I'm glad I got to see his personality shine through during my visits!

🐶 I also had a series of Drop In's with Sheldon last weekend. Sheldon loves sunbathing so I'm glad it hadn't gotten too hot yet when I was doing his visits.

🐕‍🦺 Due to the heat, I switched Lily & Max's walks this week to Drop In's which they seemed to love just as much. It was nice to just hang out with them and watch them wrestle!

🐕 Bentley still had walks, but I switched up our route so that he could walk (and roll!) in the grass and we got more shade. His walks were also shortened so that we could enjoy some time cooling off in the AC.

🐶 And I had a very short Drop In with Charlie since he doesn't tolerate the heat too well. He literally went out to p*e and he was ready to go in, not that I could blame him.

🤭 I also received a very interesting request today from a potential client. I'll admit I've never taken care of this sort of pet before, but I'm very excited to learn and add this experience to my resume! I can't wait to share it with you all once I'm done!

🌡Some helpful tips to keep your pets safe during this heatwave.

🐾 I myself have adjusted walks to accommodate your pups this week including stopping by earlier so we're not out during the hottest part of the day. Whether it's changing walks to Drop In's or switching up our normal route so we're in more grassy and shaded areas, I'll do my part to keep your fur babies safe.

🐾 I'm keeping my week in review short & sweet cause I have other info I need to pass along to all existing and potential clients.

🐕‍🦺 I had a Drop In and a walk with Lily & Max
🐕 3 walks with Bentley
🐶 And a half day of Daytime Companionship with Charlie
🏡 I also started a series of Drop In's on a new client, but per my policy, those pics will come in next week's review when my services with that client have ended.

🌡And speaking of next week, the temperatures are supposed to be some of the hottest we've seen since last summer. As a reminder, I will adjust walks accordingly. Whether that means I come a little earlier or shorten their normal routes, I will do what is necessary to keep your dogs comfortable and healthy. We do not need those precious paws getting burnt or anyone suffering from heat stroke 🥵.

📆 Also, just a friendly reminder if you plan on using my services, it is never too early to book me. I have already received overnight requests for February and June/July of next year! 🤯 I truly can't thank you guys enough! My advice always is as soon as you have your vacation plans in place, book your pet sitter. We book up faster than you realize!

🏕 I am back from our much needed camping trip, albeit a little crispy ☀️. I believe I have gotten back to any of you who did reach out while I was away. If I didn't, please let me know.

🐾 As promised, here is my week in review from last week:

🐈 I had a series of Drop In's on a new kitty friend, Grace. She is a sweetheart who loves to play! She would literally sit by her toys and wait for me to finish cleaning her litter box so that I would come play with her 🥰.

🐕‍🦺 I had 2 toasty walks with Lily & Max. On one of our walks, Lily let me know her ear was bothering her, so when we got back, I cleaned it for her and let her Mama know. She was all better by our walk the next day 😊.

🐕 And there were also 2 walks with Bentley. Our first walk, I cut a little short due to the heat. So we spent more time inside playing and giving him lots of love 💕.

✨️ Just like most of you, today is the first day of a new week for me, let's make it a great one!

🏕 I just finished up my last Drop In for the week and I am entering "Camping Mode".

🐾 For security purposes, my week in review will be posted either Sunday night or Monday due to the fact that my one client is not home yet. They got a family friend to finish up Drop In's since I will be away.

📧 So that I can "unplug" and unwind, I will not be responding to any messages or inquiries until Monday.

😭💔 I'm sad to announce the unexpected passing of a member of the In The Dog's House family. Billie crossed the rainbow bridge this past weekend. Billie was one of the sweetest cats I've ever had the pleasure of taking care of. He was a great cuddler! He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. My thoughts & prayers are with his family as they navigate their loss. RIP Billie. 🌈

🤢 I was feeling under the weather today so I'm only getting to post this now that I'm feeling slightly better, but here is my week in review:

🐶 Since last Saturday, I have had 4 full days of Daytime Companionship with Charlie.

🐕 Tuesday & Wednesday I had my walks with Bentley.

🐕‍🦺 Wednesday I had a walk with Lily & Max and I got the sweetest little gift for taking care of them on their overnights last week. 🦋

🐈 And Wednesday, I also had a Meet & Greet with a new kitty I will introduce to you all shortly.

🙃 It's been a whirlwind of a week! Every day this week I have been up somewhere between 5 & 5:30 in the morning. 😵‍💫 For those of you who don't know me well, I am NOT a morning person, lol!

❤️‍🔥Regardless, I love what I do and I would take a hundred more busy days like the ones I have had recently! Here is my week in review...

🐕‍🦺 Cody & I began a series of overnights with Lily & Max last Friday through this past Wednesday. To see these two pups true colors come out has been so rewarding and truly makes my heart full! ❣️

🐶 I had two more full days of Daytime Companionship with Charlie on Tuesday & Thursday. He was pretty lazy both days, not that I can blame him. Poor guy has had his daily routine pretty much altered this month and I think he misses his grandparents. 🥺

🐕 And Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday I had my walks with Bentley. He loves squirrels & rabbits so he's been having a blast with the warmer weather that's hopefully here to stay for a while. 🐿🐇

🐕‍🦺 Gemma is a gorgeous, happy-go-lucky 8 year old female GSD at Char-Will's German Shepherd Rescue seeking a new lease on life. Walking this girl is a treat because she's ready to stay by your side forever. Gemma may do best as a single dog home, although she has been with other dogs and done well with some so a meet and greet would be important to see how she does.

She knows some basic commands, is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and on flea/tick/heartworm preventative.

She's never met a stranger. Gemma even got to go to Redners and do meet and greets recently. She was so good with everyone she saw.

🐾 As I mentioned last Friday, my week would begin where last week ended and I've had a little bit of everything this week.

🐕 I started last Friday with a series of Drop In's on Ember & Zammy that went through Saturday night. It's always a great time catching up with these love bugs! 💕

🌙 Then Saturday evening, Cody & I did our first Overnight with Lily & Max. It was amazing to develop a stronger bond with these two than just through my normal walks with them. 🥰

🐕‍🦺 I could tell the Overnight helped our bond as Monday & Wednesday I had walks with Lily & Max and they were both SOO excited to see me and Lily was much more cooperative with getting her harness on. Usually I have to go to her or meet her in the middle, but she came right to me! 🤗

🐶 Tuesday & Thursday I had Daytime Companionship with Charlie. This dog is such a creature of habit that you will get "the look" if anything is not done in order. Such as I "forgot" to give him his afternoon pill because he was put on an antibiotic. I gave him a treat instead, but he is not stupid! 😂

🐕 And I finished out my week with a walk with Bentley today! It was damp & rainy, but he was a trooper and even tried to help me dry off when we got back to his house. 😆

🎒 Now I have to go finish packing for another set of Overnights. Hopefully it dries out a little this weekend!

🌟 Support can come in so many forms. Just this week, I set up 2 meet & greets with potential clients. One saw my business recommended a few times on a local page where someone was looking for a pet sitter. The other came from word of mouth. This is 💯% how small businesses grow!

🗣 I don't ask this often, but if you have ever used my pet sitting services, I'm asking if you could please write a review (under "reviews" near the top of this page). This could help sway potential clients in my direction should they visit my business page.

⚠️ Hikers & dog owners beware ⚠️

🔸️ ATTENTION: APPALACHIAN TRAIL DOG OWNERS & HIKERS 🔸️

Over the weekend, it was reported that a hiker found dog treats stuffed with fishhooks near the George W. Outerbridge shelter on the Appalachian Trail.

The incident occurred near the North Trail Loop leading to the shelter, on State Game Lands #217, in Washington Township, Lehigh County.

Items like these could prove deadly to any animal that consumes them, including wild and domesticated animals.

If anyone has any information about the incident or locates more findings, please call 1-833-PGC-WILD or 1-833-PGC-HUNT immediately.

🐾 Busy season is officially in full swing! I am in the middle of a series of weekend Drop In's and I have an Overnight tomorrow night, but as per my policy, I do not share pet photos until after my services are completed and I know that the client is home.

That being said, here is my week in review:

🐕‍🦺 I had two walks with Lily & Max. We had some nice and toasty weather for our walks and even though Wednesday was slightly cooler, these pups were dog tired by the end of it. 😴

🐶 On Tuesday & Thursday I had Full Day Daytime Companionship with Charlie. Poor Charlie has gone deaf in the last year so when I leave a room, I make sure he notices so that he doesn't worry and I use my hands to indicate when I want him to "come". He's still a great dog with one heck of a personality! ❣️

🐕 And Bentley was back with 3 walks this week. After a 3 week hiatus, it was so great to have Bentley back on my schedule! He had fun today trying to chase squirrels! See the last photo for reference. 😆

6 1/2 hours after their 30 minute walk and they are still tuckered out! 🙌
