If you ever feel uncomfortable removing a tick from your pet, contact your regular veterinarian for help! 🤳

Just like us, our pups can contract Lyme disease from ticks, specifically the deer tick, which carry the bacteria that causes this disease. Dogs anywhere in the country can come into contact with ticks, but it's more likely if you live in wooded areas where they are prevalent, and if your pup spends a lot of time outdoors. Regular inspections of your dog after outdoor excursions can help catch ticks before things get nasty. 🚫🤢 If you do find one on your pup, grab some tweezers, gloves, tissues, and rubbing alcohol.

We know, sometimes you just REALLY want to say hi to that cute dog on the street. There are many reasons a pup parent may not want you to pet their dog. They might be in the middle of a training session, or have a pup that gets overwhelmed with too much attention from strangers. No matter what, you should always ask permission before petting their dog to avoid causing distress to the pup, their parent, and even to yourself.

It’s the season of heat stroke! It’s nice to us but it’s HOT to our canine friends. Make sure they have shade and plenty of water. If they are heavily panting and their gums are getting dark red it’s time to cool off inside!!

This little girl has been reclaimed. Thanks

This female chihuahua type dog was found in Ottawa on Monday afternoon and so far, no one has called to report her missing. She only has a collar with no dog license on. The poor girl is old, can not see very well, can not hear very well and seems to have some issues with walking. If anyone has information on who the owner is, please facebook message or call the dog warden at (419) 523-8617 and leave a voicemail.
