Our dogs are part of our family and live in our home with the family. I don't have a kenneling facility and don't believe in dogs outside of the home, especially a Dane and I feel if they weren't in our home as family members it
would keep my puppies from reaching the goals I have for them. My goal as a breeder first and foremost is to produce a sound dog that is healthy and will live a full life, temperament of course is a priority, and lastly conformation. I realize that the majority of breeders are striving to produce the ideal show specimen and I believe there is a place for that too, it's just not the goal of my breeding program. I have had dogs go on to become therapy and service dogs and I am very proud of the work they have done and the lives they have touched. In my mind a show dog will please it's handler if it is successful in the show ring whereas a therapy dog or service dog will please many more people. I continue to be amazed at how well they have done and am extremely proud of what they have accomplished. Of course, not every dog will become a service dog which means I always have puppies looking for pet homes as well. We handle all the puppies exactly the same from the day they are born regardless. I have found that it makes a much more outgoing and confident puppy that will adjust well in any family setting. There is more to raising a puppy than just cleaning, feeding, and watering until 8 weeks. I continuously try to educate myself on the mental and emotional development of puppies and I really feel that after sound genetics this is the key to a puppy developing into a wonderful adult dog that becomes a cherished family member. We make every effort from birth to socialize and nurture our puppies. I want their new families to be happy with their new family member and I do everything I can to help make puppyhood fun and enjoyable.
