When I was 5 months old, a woman found me on the side of a major highway in Northern Kentucky. She kept me for two weeks, contacting shelters and vets, placing ads on Facebook and Craigslist, trying to find my owners. After no luck, she placed an ad on Craigslist offering me up for adoption. The ad on Craigslist is where my mommy found me. She saw my ad, and was instantly in love. She kept checkin
g back for almost a solid week, and my ad was still up, so she finally e-mailed and asked to come meet me. When she showed up I jumped all over her and gave her big hugs and kisses. It was love at first sight. I went home with my new mom that night. It only took about a day for her to realize I was deaf. I didn't respond to ANYTHING, not even the vacuum. A few days later, my new mommy took me to the vet for my shots and the vet confirmed that I'm deaf, and was more than likely born that way, due to how young I was. Mom thinks my old family probably abandoned me because they thought I was dumb, and didn't realize I'm deaf. I didn't know anything when I first came to live with my new mom, but she's taught me sign language and now I listen very well. I want to help educate people, not only about BSL, but deaf dogs and Craigslist dogs. My mom just enrolled me in obedience classes to start working towards earning my CGC, and I'm trying to become a K9 Blood Donor. I would like to start doing some fundraisers for rescues and special needs dogs in the future. Mom says I will forever be a part of her family, and because of me, she will always own/foster deaf dogs. My birthday is March 8, 2012 and my Gotcha Day is August 24, 2012
