Very proud turtle mom moment!
The smaller turtle's name is "Cash". When I purchased the breeding pair, the female was not in the initial box, Cash was not secured in the box, he was left in a 3rd party dropbox and spent 3 days traveling the mail system. Once he finally made it to me, he was bruised, his shell needed some work (UVB/heat), and he was starving. Then to top it off...he couldn't swim!
I worked with him, being in a smaller aquarium, with way less water, and slowly added water until he built up his muscles and confidence to start swimming again. This video is of his first day at swimming in the bigger aquarium with his girlfriend...I am so excited!!
UPDATE: 10 eggs total from "Angel", WOW!!!
1st BP clutch of 2024!
- Dame is a single gene (FIRE), named "Angel"...
- Sire is an amazing...6-gene-holder (SUPER PASTEL, CINNAMON, LEOPARD, PINSTRIPE, YELLOW BELLY), named "Sushi" 🍣
There are 32 possible outcomes (genetically speaking), with this pairing...none of which will be "normal", due to Dad carrying 2 copies of the pastel gene! (i.e. "Super Pastel")...
In fact, every single baby from this pairing, will at a minimum, carry 1 copy of the PASTEL gene!
