Almost weekly the conversation comes up about dog parks in one class or with a client. I will never take my dogs to a dog park. It is one of the most unregulated environments you can take your dog to. Do you know the play style( yes dogs have different play styles much like we have different hobbies) , temperament, and vaccination status of the dogs in the park? Remember it is our job as dog owners to be their advocate and ensure that they are in a safe environment. The fact of the matter is your dog would more than likely enjoy a nice sniffari around a park or a game of fetch more. Keep in mind I am not talking about boarding facilities that are monitored by people who have been trained.
