“Hallexy” is a registered Dutch Harness Horse/ Friesian Cross, and she is the easiest horse to be around we have ever owned!

Under saddle, Hallexy has the biggest MOVEMENT we have ever seen! Her gaits are beautiful, fluid and a true sight to see! She has been ridden on trails and in the arena. Crosses bridges and downfall, and is very sheer footed. She has even carried a flag! She drives easily as well. She would be a superb dressage horse with a little work!

It is recorded she had two c**ts by a Dutch Harness Horse Stallion previous to us purchasing her. She came to us in foal to a Standardbred Stallion and about 9 months later she threw another big and beautiful c**t! She delivered without assistance and was a very good momma!

Home Update!!
After a couple weeks of being on the market, Phoenix found the PERFECT home. She went to be a 10 year old’s dream come true! 😍
We take extra precautions to ensure that our horses match well in their new homes and this right here is why!!
Phoenix and her girl go adventures every day, whether in saddle on in hand. We are so happy to hear they’re enjoying each other’s company.

This was by far one of the best updates we have gotten!
Rayne (now Ray) and her new mom are doing phenomenal together! They completed her first Horse Trials this last weekend and she placed 7th out of a large class both days. She is a good girl and a crowd favorite!
She has also started XC Schooling and we are told she is brave and uncomplicated over jumps.

Good luck at your next event Ande and Ray!! We look forward to seeing the two of you grow as a team ❤️

Another successful matchup!
Diesel was a personal horse of ours for many years. As we grew, we realized he wasn’t getting the attention he needed. Finding him a home was the hardest decision, but was the right one.
He now has the PERFECT home with his new Mom, Emily! They are enjoying leisure riding and bonding time.

We have used her in lessons for beginner-intermediate riders. She is SAFE and sane. She has also been on numerous trails and is perfect! Don't let her age fool you! She can ride circles around our younger horses. We have hauled her out as well and she acts the same as she does at home.

Previous to us, Phoenix was used as a broodmare and trail horse in Montana. Her only vice is she can be a bit spooky while being caught. She is not super hard to catch by any means!

This is one mare with lots of BODY! She's built to work all day.
She has great ground manners, saddles well, bathes and is great for the farrier. She is currently barefoot and is doing wonderfully!
Under saddle she has a nice neck rein, a good turn around, and good woah. Her only vice is that she does toss her head. It is completely manageable with a tie down. We have had her teeth done, chiro checked, and a vet exam. It has been determined that it is a learned behavior from previous owner being heavy handed.
When we purchased her, we were told she was used as a rope horse. We were shown videos of her doing so but do not have them personally.
She would be a great gaming horse, barrels, rope ETC!

I get a lot of questions on my application of 3D half mesh pads and impression material. I hope this post helps address some of those questions many of you have been asking.

"Why do you use them?"

I use them for a variety of different pathologies and problems that we are faced with shoeing horses. I do not normally use them on horses that are sound or as a preventative measure but rather as a therapeutic application. (Though if you use them as a preventative measure on certain horses I have no qualms with that.) Understanding what the problem is and why it is occurring is of extreme importance. If we understand what and why, we can rationally, and successfully set and accomplish goals to help manage and heal many different ailments and pathologies that we face. With that said it's important to answer the next question.

"What do they do?"

- They help absorb and disperse shock.
- They help stabilize the hoof capsule.
- They engage and protect the caudal aspect of the hoof simultaneously.
- They encourage vertical depth growth.
- They help support the boney column.
- They help with negative hoof pastern axises, and flat or negative palmar angles.
- The 3 degree wedge versions may also help relieve strain on the deep digital flexor tendon in addition to addressing HPAs / PAs

With that said, here are some common pathologies I find success in using the application:

- White Line Disease
- Laminitis
- Heel Issues
- Negative HPA / PA
- Bone fractures higher up the limb (i.e ankle, knee, etc.)
- Pedal Osteitis

You are not limited to just these pathologies they are just some good examples. Always remember critical thinking plays an important role in any therapeutic application. What works for one horse will not necessarily make it a cure all for another. Think about what the application does and see if it would benefit the horse you are trying to help.

"I tried 3D Pads and they didn't work."

I hear this statement from time to time and usually ask a few questions upon hearing it.

- What was wrong with the horse and what were you trying to accomplish in using them?

- What type of impression material did you use and what shore was it?

- Did you load the foot to squeeze out the excess material before it set up?

More times than not if the 3D pads didn't work for you one of these questions will sort why it didn't. Many people will incorrectly use 3D pads thinking they are a cure all but they are not. Proper application is important. If you use them on say a puncture wound or an abscess your horse will be worse off with them than without them.

The type of impression material you use is very important as well. I prefer to use A15 super soft for racehorses. Anything A25+ will generally be too hard of an impression material for heavy training and may cause bruising and lameness. This is another part where critical thinking should come into play. If you have a horse that you are looking to support that is in a different discipline and not breezing at 40mph a harder shore may be appropriate.

The last question is if they loaded the foot before the impression material set up? If you do not load the foot to squeeze out the excess impression material, you may end up with a lame or uncomfortable horse from excessive frog and or sole pressure.

With all of that addressed I have seen 3D pads take extremely lame horses, make them sound, and not miss a beat in training. I will generally only keep the application on until the problems resolve and then swap them back to regular shoes. They have worked wonders and I have applied them to many graded stakes winning horses at this point in my career and find them to be a great tool when properly used. I have seen horses on the verge of retirement make impressive come backs when no other methods seemed to help the horse. I think they've earned their spot in my truck 100x over and am a big fan of them.

“Dakota” is one awesome mare. She is a work horse with no BS. Coming off a cattle ranch, she knows her job and gets it done. She carries the MuleShoe ranch brand, which are very well known for their beautifully broke western performance horses. She neck reins beautifully! Super nice WOAH. Very smooth trot and lope. She has a very nice handle. Dakota opens gates, side passes, you name it! We used her in some Ranch Riding lessons and she did very well. She would excel beautifully in the show ring! We took her to the 3 -Day Ranch Horse Show in Temecula CA for show exposure and she never skipped a beat! She does well on trails and will lead or follow.
Her only vice is she can be a little standoffish on the ground. She was worked hard not shown much love from previous owner, but is definitely coming around to it!

We rode the open fields and he was exposed to the cattle in the branding pens. He was a complete rockstar.
