Lake County Sheriff's Canine Dax has died just two days after a retirement ceremony was held following his career-ending injury, officials announced.

The purchase of a well bred purebred did not sentence another dog to death.
The purchase of a well bred purebred did not cause an increase in the number of dogs in shelter.
Someone wanting a dog with a predictable temperament from healthy lineage did not cause another dog to not get adopted.
Someone's meticulous research and support of only the most responsible of breeders is not the problem. It is not what you should be mad at. It is not what you should be pushing the blame onto.
I am not the one who brought these dogs into the world irresponsibly and left them in a shelter. Responsible breeders are not the ones who put dogs into shelters either.
It is my home, my life, and my choice of what kind of dog to bring into it. Maybe I needed a working dog, a sport dog, or simply a companion puppy to raise of a breed I enjoy. No matter the reason, the choice to support a reputable breeder did not send a shelter dog to its death.
A breeder who health tests, temperament tests, studies pedigrees, proves a dog worthy of being bred, and only breeds when doing so is of benefit to the breed is not contributing to the number of homeless dogs.
The number of homeless dogs in the world is a problem, but it is not a problem exacerbated by reputable breeders and those who purchase from them.
Your neighbor down the street who refuses to contain his unaltered dogs IS contributing to the problem.
Your friend who impulse bought a dog at Pet Land IS contributing to the problem.
That guy on Craigslist pumping out the trendiest designer mix as fast as he can IS contributing to the problem.
Your relative who just HAS to let their dog have one litter “so she can experience motherhood” or because “she’s just so sweet” IS contributing to the problem.
Your old high school classmate who bought a high energy working breed without taking the time to research its needs and realize it was not a good fit for their household ahead of time IS contributing to the problem.
A reputable breeder offers their lifelong support. A reputable breeder would never allow their dogs to end up in a shelter to begin with. A reputable breeder makes it a contractual obligation to return dogs they have produced back to them should you find yourself unable of keeping it.
It is understandable to be angry about the number of homeless dogs in the world, but if you take a deeper look, you will find your anger is misplaced.
If you take a deeper look, you will find reputable breeders and those of us who purchase from them are just as angry, we are just pointing fingers at the right causes.

In conclusion, Blaming responsible breeders for shelter dogs is like blaming Harvard graduates for crack babies.

I know Crufts is a big deal in the UK but some of these dogs are just not what I would have thought would have won “best of breed”. Surely not in the US at the big shows anyway.

Many dogs have bad reactions to the adjustable or spot treatments for fleas, mosquitoes, ticks, etc.
Using natural citronella, oil or cedarwood oil is best. Using a spray bottle and adding a few drops of either of the oils, add water, shake vigorously, and spray on the dog.
Only use high-end oil that are pure. I only use doTERRA myself. If you need to know where to get Dara, please let me know and I will set you up!

Ever hear this myth?
In reality, every new submission is first evaluated by one of our in house radiologists to ensure the image is of minimal diagnostic quality and to provide an initial grade. The case is then randomly assigned for additional readings from our consulting group of board certified veterinary radiologists. When complete, the independent evaluations are pooled to develop a final consensus grade.

Today was the Illinois "Governor's" budget proposal speech.

1. This is the largest budget proposal in state history.
2. The Governor’s total FY25 proposed budget which is a $2.29 billion increase compared to the FY24 enacted budget – a 4.5% increase.
3. The Governor’s FY25 revenue estimate includes over $1 billion in additional revenue from statutory changes that are not yet in effect. (AKA NEW TAXES and FEES)
4. Illinois will have a $775 million cash shortage for FY25 based on existing taxes, fees, etc......and the Governor continues to cash checks there is no money for.
5. The budget gives better healthcare benefits for non-citizens but continues to reduce the care benefits for intellectually disabled.
4. Governor proposed over $1 billion in new taxes in an attempt to sustain his uncontrollable spending.
5. Instead of proposing any cuts to address the upcoming deficit, the Governor is requiring the taxpayers to again foot the bill in order to give things to his friends.

We, the people of this state should expect a balanced budget without tax hikes but with significant tax relief. Instead, we will be asked to pay $1 billion in new taxes.

If you do not vote in March for the primary to place good candidates on the general election ballot who will fight for us against a man who has never worked a real job in his life, you are just as responsible for the horrible condition this state is in.

Every time the guy opens his mouth to talk, I see my finances being drained a little more.

I have said many times this would happen but the shelters said it wouldn’t. Their lack of vetting people AND dogs has caused the majority of the returns to shelters.
Let me be clear…. I don’t care if you adopt a stray or buy a purebred dog….animals are not disposable.
You aren’t allowed to have a dog for a couple of years or a few months and screw them all up and then return them because you broke them.
If the shelters did their job correctly, half of those people would’ve been vetted out and never received the dog. Remember, even if the dog is returned, they get another Adoption fee for it when it goes out the door.
If you’re getting a dog from the shelter and they can’t tell you anything about the dog other than what they have seen in the last 24 hours, then find another shelter. these shelters get the message that no one’s going to take dogs that they know should be vetted, them maybe they will learn to do it the right way.
