This is the official page of the Nauti Kitty Krew from Palm Beach Gardens as narrated by me, Hank.
Mabel, a feral cat, gave birth on February 18th. Yes, we name the ferals. Yes, we know the delivery date because my family feeds the feral colony by our house. We were watching and waiting, because we wanted to rescue the kittens with the hopes to find them forever homes.
We were tracking Mabel but could not figure out where she was keeping her kittens. Finally, on March 26th, Mom tracked Mabel to the side yard. She began playing sounds of kittens calling one another from a YouTube video. Then, she heard kittens and saw Mabel in the neighbor's boat with LOTS of little tails circling around her. Mom wishes she would have gotten a picture...she said it was so cute.
Mom called the family on the cell phones and it was literally, all hands on deck to get these little ones. One, Sailor, the tuxedo cat was stuck in a rod holder and had to be extricated. Thank goodness my Daddy is a firefighter! We got 6 that night and thought we had them all. However, the next morning, Mimi went to check if she heard or saw anymore, and then saw Mabel and one kitten. We believe Mabel carried the kitten down to the ground. Once the kitten saw Mimi, it ran into the neighbor's shed. The next rescue operation began. Mimi and Mommy brought the 6 kittens outside in a playpen, put food out for the loose kitten and for Mabel, and played the kitten sounds. Mabel is always ravenous because she is such a little cat herself and these 7 babies were BIG eaters so she stayed close by. After a little bit, the kitten came out of the shed and Mimi scooped him up! Yay!!!! Another cutie!
It was time to get Mabel. She ran every time Mommy tried to grab her so Mommy set the humane trap with sardines. Yuck! Smelly! Yuck! Everyone went back inside. A bit later, Daddy checked the trap and we got Mabel. Woooooohoooooooo!
A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens agreed to accept the kittens into their rescue as long as we fostered them. Another Woooooohoooooooo because of course we would foster them!
And so the story continues...
