In honor of Indigenous Day

Lets talk about the Indigenous dog that almost went extinct after the indigenous people were segregated onto reservations.

Not a coyote and not a wolf, these working companion dogs were expected to carry out several important tasks. Some of their tasks involved pulling a travois laden with the families belongings, hunting, guarding, and some even as babysitters on occasion.

Todays black wolves are said, by scientists, to be descended from the mixing with indigenous dogs.
