Mallory, Downs Syndrome
Mallory is a 7 year old who has been participating in Equine Assisted Therapy now for 3 years. Originally diagnosed with Downs Syndrome, her core strength and balance were so minimal she had to be held in the saddle . Her confidence was very low. Today she rides with reins, can two-point at a trot (stand in stirrups with hands on the horse mane) and maintains her balance on the horse. Now the only time she is held on the horse is when she’s excited and “squirmy”.
John's story of Stroke Recovery w/ SpiritHorse
At 35, John had a stroke. He went from working full time at Attorney's Office, to not being able to speak, walk, drive or do anything for himself. He thought about his choices; get mad, frustrated or more, or work to improve his life. He decided God had a plan for him and chose the latter. I asked John what it was like, he said, "I almost died! And after that I decided everything else was just Bullsh*t" Hear John tell his story about SpiritHorse and more... BTW, the day we filmed this, John was asked back to work fulltime.
