We have added some new toys to the pen and the pups immediately began interacting with them. Most folks don't know that changing out your dog's toys is important. They get bored with seeing/playing with the same toys and lose interest. Adding toys with different shapes & textures keeps them interested and entertained.

The pups are officially able to see, are up and walking, although still wobbly, and are beginning to respond to loud sounds. Mr Blue showed serious interest in Summer's breakfast this morning. Mr Orange a big boy! He is over 4 lbs, and a few of the girls are not far behind him. He reminds me a lot of his grand daddy Sam. He is long, dark and handsome. He has already gotten himself stuck trying to escape.🤦♀️ He is so chunky that his middle wouldn't fit through the spindles on the gate lol. He screamed like a banshee when he realized he couldn't move. 🥰
I went over, got him loose and gave him comfort. I got you lil' buddy! ❤️

Our little nuggets are doing great. They mostly still just nurse and sleep, but there are small intervals where they are awake and are beginning to play. Over this next week, we will see lots of progress! My favorite time with them is coming. I cant wait for puppy breath and puppies attacking my lap! 🤪

The pups have grown so much this week. I am sure we will have some 3 pounders today!
Yesterday I observed the pups beginning to initiate play with each other. This morning I noticed a small opening in one of their eyes. It won't be long until the fun begins! As you know, my favorite time with the pups is coming! 3-5 weeks is the perfect time to get in the pen and take in all the sweet puppy lovins and puppy breath I can before the tiny terrorist stage begins 😆
The pups are a pretty quiet bunch unless someone "gets lost", as I call it. They have moved about the pen and can't seem to find their siblings and will begin calling out for them. Of course, they can't hear yet, so no one can rescue him. I step in, pickbhim/her up, give em' some snuggles, tell em' they are ok and place him near the puppy pile. The scared little nugget finds his sweet spot and snuggles in.
Tails are wagging, bellies are full, all are happy and healthy. It doesn't get better then that to start your day.
I caught a rare moment of just the boys nursing this morning. I love the array of coat colors!

This will be a busy week preparing the pups for their new homes and preparing for the arrival of Summer's little nuggets.

The pups are 4 weeks old today!
The pups received their 2nd dose of de-wormer, had a mani/pedi (omg..they were all SO good for it). They are doing great with the pan feeding. These lil nuggets always eat the whole pan. I have already increased it to 4 cups of soaked dry food and 32oz of homemade formula, 3x's day AND they nurse every few hours. After they eat, they "do their business" (some even in the litter box) and then pass out into milk coma!

Unfortunately,we will not be taking over raising this litter. The owner had a change of plan and has decided to continue raising them. I am so very happy for them.
When we thought we were going to retire Summer after her last litter, all the families on my list for an American Golden were put on Honey's list. If you would like to be moved to Summer's list, please let me know asap, as she was bred several weeks ago, with pups expected 7/8. If you want to remain on Honey's list. There is nothing you need to do at this point.
For those of you on Gabby's American/English litter, if you want to be removed from her list for any reason, please let me know as her list is very full.

I can't tell you enough how much I love waking up to wagging tails and puppy snuggles!
It seems they grow overnight while I am sleeping. One night I go to sleep leaving my lil nuggets all snuggled up together and wake to find little puppies in their place. Ms Flowers and Ms Burgandy are always the first to come greet me!
We have some big changes as of today!
First, we have puppy breath! 😍 I LOVE puppy breath!!
Second, we have lift off with all 4 legs. We have walkers!!
Third, as I mentioned yesterday, we have eyeballs peeking through.
And finally, Ms Teal was already eating out of mama's bowl! They don't even have teeth yet! 🤦♀️
