We have not let Hurricanes Helene or Milton slow us down! We are still taking on new rehabilitation patients in and recovery is now part of our vocabulary here in . We are as our new friend Yoshi starts his rehabilitation plan this last week in between Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. He is a joy to work with and such a love bug 🐞 ♥️. Thank you to the Wilson family for failing as a foster to this handsome boy and giving him the best chance to be strong and learn to adjust to his new lease on life with his cart fitted by !

We had one of the most special graduates this week. Miss Bella has blown through rehab and though we will miss her dearly, has been transitioned to her at home rehabilitation exercises thanks to the dedication and partnership of her parents. Bella is a true example of when you put in the work, it pays off. We will see her as a recheck in couple months to evaluate how she is maintaining her muscle mass, balance, and flexibility while out of an in-clinic program. Congratulations Bella! We will miss seeing you twice a week, but you earned this girlfriend. 🩵

Three smiling faces all happy to have started their underwater treadmill journies today!

1) Kester got in for fun as it’s been a little too hot to get him out and about as much this summer and we want to prevent any unnecessary weight gains.
2) Bella is feeling better after her warming deep tissue massage and the “feel good stuff” on Tuesday, so we got to elevate her rehabilitation program and she rocked her 6 minutes in the treadmill like she has always been a water dog (FYI: Frenchies usually sink, not swim, so they’re not known to be water lovers in general).
3) Keeva began her geriatric conditioning program to keep any OA at bay and keep her limber. She rocked her first day in canine PT like she’s always been here.

I’d say it was a successful day all around. And all enjoyed their treats. 🩶💙

Reach out to us to learn more about our certified staff and how we can help your dog be more mobile and better conditioned.

From pain management, to home exercise plans, to sports conditioning, we do it all!

Do you know what you’re getting out of seeing a certified pain management and canine rehabilitation specialist? We have many objective measurements we use when determining progress and adjusting the progress to fit every dogs needs!

Here you can see Libby measuring flexibility as Bella snoozes right through the range of motions 😅 We do these assessments with every incoming rehabilitation patient to ensure we’re targeting areas that you may not see as a problem because your dog has learned how to compensate over time. We focus on the main need for rehabilitation while ensuring the compensatory changes we identify can also addressed during their time with us.

Sometimes during the rehabilitation process, when you have backsides, or in Lucy’s case a slip-n-slide on tile, you start with the feel good stuff. Here you see Miss Lucy Goosey on our PEMf bed allowing her to snooze right through her TENs unit therapy and therapeautic massage techniques. 💕 Lucy’s mom has been killing it with her home exercise program as well! Kuddos to both as they begin their journey in canine rehabilitation.

Lucy gets to soak in a lot of the modalities and techniques taught to our team by the Canine Rehabilitation Institute. It’s always best to leave your care to those that have delved into further certifications and education to get the best out of your rehabilitation plan. Ask our team about more information during your initial evaluation!

Feline Osteoarthritis pain:
60% of cats 6 years and older are affected by osteoarthritis, and 90% of cats 12 and older are affected. Cats are adept at hiding when they are ill and they hide pain all too well also. Look for the signs of discomfort by watching for changes in activity and how they move. If you see any of these, let us know so we can help them with their arthritis pain.

This “little” guy loved playing peekaboo during his treadmill session during his first day of canine rehabilitation therapy. Kuda will be working on strenghtening and conditioning to continue to RISE to all his adventures as a good boy. If you’re older guy or gal has problems getting up or getting around, hydrotherapy is fantastic for the joints. Paired with our manual therapies by our trained medical staff and therapeutic exercises, Kuda we hope will be more comfortable and agile during his older years. Thank you to his dedicated paw-rents for entrusting us with his care! We can’t wait to see his progress. 🐾💕

Mom asked Ellie if she was ready for her day with her friends at Steele Pain Management Center for her biophosphonate infusion, and this beaming smile and head tilt told us all we needed to know. Mom and dad can go to work comfortably knowing she’s under our care for the day, twice a week, for her pain management program.

During Ellie’s pain management program she goes through PEMF therapy, cold laser therapeutic treatments, electro acupuncture, underwater therapeutic treatments and biophosphonate infusions. She also is on a few pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals, as well as a special diet. We appreciate our multi modal approach. And her mom and dad advocate for her endurance limiting only two modalities per visit. The partnership of her care has truly made the difference in her successful story. We adore our Elle Belle.

Ellie is one of our special patients that Dr. Baird has written about in the latest addition of the New Barker magazine. Please ask us if we have any more of the limited edition printed copies next time you’re in the office. Or you can find out more at: https://www.thenewbarker.com/home.html. 💕🐾

This chow hound has the sweetest and amazingly dedicated mama since he was adopted. They have worked on weight loss, muscle building and are now being proactive about his osteoarthritic pain as he ages by having him go through biweekly acupuncture treatments alongside beginning Adequan injections. His mama is seeing wonderful and stable results. Which only means we can begin to decrease how often he comes in the clinic to scarf down his Churru and frozen broth jar and then trot out of the hospital like he just left the orthopedic spa. 💕🐾 So proud of your progress, Murphy Murph. We love you!
