Noire - is akin to a fine glass of Pinot! 🍷 Noire is 3 years old and 52 lbs. A volunteer attempted to win him over today with a doggy charcuterie board! It was discovered that he has a very refined palate and only truly sampled the cheese. He exhibited the cutest head tilt at the sound of a squeaky toy! Noire is simply endeavoring to comprehend why he is here and cordially invites you to meet him today. Note that the shelter will be closed tomorrow in observance of the 4th of July! 🎆🎇

Rune is new to adoptions, but already getting so much attention. He is very gentle, calm, the easiest dog to walk per a volunteer who sorrento time with him. He's gorgeous. Very healthy and handsome. Meet Oreo. He’s 2 years old, neutered, 78 lbs, heartworm negative, and has a
Big sweet, loving heart!!!
Oreo is a big, sensitive soul tucked inside a strong body. He came in as a stray, and while the shelter is hard on him, there’s a sweet, playful dog underneath it all.
In playgroups, he’s polite and gentle, preferring calm friends and soft games. He knows sit, stay, paw, down, and takes treats like a gentleman. He loves a quiet voice, slow movements, and a bit of structure to help him feel safe.
Give him a squeaky toy or a little pool to splash in, and you’ll see his goofy side come out. He might not always settle right away, but when he leans in for affection, he’s showing his heart.
The kennel life is too much for him. It’s hot full and loud…He gets overwhelmed, anxious, and sometimes reacts out of fear. He’s getting extra support, but what he really needs is a patient, loving home someone who can see past the noise and into his quiet, hopeful eyes.

Shelter evaluations are difficult due to the stressful environment, so the best thing to do is to go meet the dog. We do our very best as volunteers to meet every dog and post them. ACO Darren paid a visit today to check on Jasmine, whom he rescued along with her siblings suffering from Parvo. Jasmine is initially nervous but displays affection towards her friends. Meet this six-month-old lady tomorrow from 12-6pm.

Working Fonzie into the house, still using muzzle as he’s adjusting to housemates.

• Dogs ✅ (large, medium, small)

• Cats ✅ (curious but respectful)

• Kids ❌
- Babies, toddlers and small children are too much for him.
He’s learning to accept our youngest, but we are highly structured, always supervised and leave no room for error.

Crate Trained ✅
Potty Trained ✅

No observed resource guarding issues: able and willing to share water, toys and take treats aroundd other dogs without a problem.
**We still advise to feed meals separately.

Fonzie is wary of strangers and will choose to avoid when possible. What he needs is a confident leader, willing advocate for him to work on his social skills. Lower traffic home would be ideal but if you’re willing to work with him, you’ll see improvement.
Medical care for him can be struggle though he was treated by a vet with his previous home. He was medicated and muzzled for the care and was able to make it through.
His muzzle is a tool he’s very comfortable with, and it allows us to work him in uncomfortable situations while setting up for best possible success.
He’s also highly food motivated so we can sweeten the deal when needed.
Fonzie takes time to trust and get comfortable, but once you’re in the club, you’re in, and he is a highly affectionate guy.

Through fundraising we’ve secured 3 weeks of a board and train here with us. We’ll be working on skills and highlighting his progress as it happens.
