Effective September 1, 2022 there will be a 10% increase across the board on all our tanning. For example 2021 wt cape was $100. This year it will be $110. Wanted to make sure y’all were able to adjust your prices going into the season. Thank y’all for trusting us with your capes!

I’m not big on advertising. As a matter of fact I hate it. And if I haven’t spoke with you personally we aren’t taking on any new clients as of now. But with that being said, if someone wanted to give us a try or has used us in the past and you have some stragglers you need done get em to me now and they will be done approximately October Obviously if someone shows up tomorrow with 70 capes, then the second week of October and so on. (We are completing about 70 whitetail type capes per week). Thank you

Quick question for those of y’all that use us for tanning. I know y’all prefer the capes to be trimmed. The two pics below were taken five seconds part. I know the trimmed cape looks better. But I literally took a scalpel and just cut the ugly away. In my taxi shop we don’t trim until I thin it down a little. Come September 1st we may have to raise our prices. Haven’t decided. But if I can do away with the two hours a day it takes me to trim everyone’s capes. I may not have to up prices or up them as much. What are y’all’s thoughts?

To those of you who are curious. We are not an overnight little start up tannery. Now we haven’t been doing it for a 100 years. We are heading into year 4 of offering our services to other taxis. We are a 6 person shop. Three shavers. One flesher. One taxidermist and an apprentice taxi! We started off about 12 years ago with taxidermy. Tanned all our own stuff for about 10 of those 12 years. In year two of the business we added wild game processing! So here at my tiny shop in the middle of Cottondale Texas, we average about 300 mounts per year. 850-1000 animals for processing and around 2000 hides to tan a year. We are three brothers, a married couple and a 19 year old apprentice. Plus the real boss, my 7 year old, I’ll stare a hole through ya and not talk to ya daughter!

Our name came from where we started the tannery. My grandpas old wood working shop. He was a Baptist preacher. And the name of his business was Bro.Ken T wood works. (Brother Ken Tierce). So I’m honor of him we named the business after his business.

As far as turn around time we shoot for 4 months but this day and age it’s next to impossible. We don’t have a huge clientele. But the ones I keep around 😉 are very loyal and have become friends! Don’t care how good a friend they are, no discounts and no bumping you in front of someone else! 🙂
