I have had a few people asked me what do I focus on first when training a new dog. One of the first couple of things I start to work on with clients is a solid stay command. How many of y’all get tired of having to pull your dog away from guest when they come over or just want to walk across the house without being followed? Here’s a little training blooper from a recent session with Amos. Grace was working on introducing the cue “Leave It”. Well, he left it! Very dramatically, though! True Doodle style😂

Here at Ace we love dogs for so many reasons, but one of them is definitely their silly personalities! Here is George, handled by Taylor, doing a full send over a very low 10-inch vertical jump. Talk about hops! George has the cutest personality!

Amos and our trainer, Grace, worked on impulse control relating to barriers (I.e the front door) today. Previously, Amos would get so excited at the possibility of going somewhere that he would bolt out the door. This is dangerous for many reasons. So, Amos’ evening session today focused on controlling his excitement and being patient. Watch as he learns in just the short length of this clip!
