Sometimes there are findings on radiographs that are acceptable, not every horse is completely clean on rads, I can help you interpret the findings for the use of your potential new horse. People often ask “why so many views of the joints?” This is a clear example of why we need to look, and look with multiple views. This is something not seen on the other views of the knee, and something that could be easily missed on a pre purchase exam without this specific view. This didn’t preclude a sale, we need to reasonably look at the things we find on a PPE and decide if it’s acceptable. In the case of this horse, this is very unlikely to cause a problem, but it’s nice to have the information in order to make a plan.
