I was keeping this one for myself for breeding. Please read the entire post. 3yr old Hanoverian mare. Approved Hanoverian. Escher/Contendro I/Voltaire.
Unstarted and being sold as a broodmare. Not looking for anyone that would try to flip this mare. Absolutely wonderful bloodlines and her parents and sibling have proven records.
This was my breech filly. She was windswept due to fetal mal position. She had a pressure sore on a hock as a foal that had to be surgically closed. It left a small scar. She developed compensatory OCD lesion on the other hock from uneven weight bearing. We had it removed in June. At that time, both hocks X-ray normally, but one is larger than the other. She is sound and able to be started, I just don’t want someone to (actually) break this filly because I have worked so hard to get her to this point.

There are very few yearlings that I would describe as elegant or beautiful, but Countess IHF lives up to her name. Beautiful face, great hind leg engagement, floating trot…..
Con Capilot/Cento/Gepard
She’s a bit spicy, but very very smart and not spooky. She does all age appropriate things and has been shown in hand. Looks like she will stay chestnut and not gray. This is one that I was keeping for future breeding, but life has other ideas. Successful siblings in pictures. Should mature in the 16.1 range. She’s quite tall as a yearling.

Omnipotent IHF is a March 2023 branded and registered Hanoverian c**t. He is Obi Wan B/Bliss MF/Lordanos. He has perfect soundness, near perfect conformation, absolutely perfect temperament and one not so perfect eye. His eye has a scar and some discoloration. He has vision. He is not affected by this at all. He has no restrictions. Vet says no limitations. He has no idea why everyone wants to see his eye, but he is perfectly fine with it. I put 7k into saving his eye and have the receipts to prove it. He self loads, leads, bathes and would follow you into the house. Picture of eye included.

They say that victory is sweeter when it is hard fought. This has felt like rolling a boulder up a mountain. We qualified several horses for finals, but finals sold out this year and we didn’t get in. We went on the waiting list. Then it wasn’t in the budget because the truck needed tires before it could pull a horse trailer to North Carolina. Then Dave had a medical event. Then we got the call that we were plucked off the waiting list- for one horse. We decided to make it happen, but the universe still had a few rocks to throw in the path. We drove down Wednesday bathed the yearling that we brought down for a client and then found out that our Air b and B was not actually available. Cue the frantic search for a hotel room at 9:30pm. Then Friday morning started with a huge power outage. Then we learn that we are showing in the last class of the day on Saturday and then that we are the absolute last horse to go in the entire show. Whew.

I guess she saved the best for last, because BellaCenta IHF is your 4 yr old champion in BOTH in hand /liberty AND the jump chute. We are over the moon. This scrappy little mare showed everyone what I have always seen.

Another downsizing listing for my surgery though I had half hoped to keep this one for my daughter.

2018 Oldenburg mare approved for breeding with Hanoverian and Rhineland. The first pinto approved to the main mare book of Hanoverian. Has had one foal.

Currently in full training. Has had 90 days. Solid w/t/c and started over cross rails. Shown extensively in hand and jump chute as a young horse. Easy easy easy. No vices. Per the trainer she is ready to put my 17yr old daughter on. 15.3 and some change. Probably 16 hands if shod. Temperament for the hunters. Enough movement to take in a dressage direction. Omnipotent IHF: March foal. (Obi Wan B/Bliss MF/Lordanos). Absolute pocket pony type. This one would live in the house if we let him. Should mature 15.3-16h. Large barreled type that will take up a lot of leg. Has a minor scar to L eye that does not affect his vision. 12.5k

Liberator IHF: May foal. (Lord Adonis/Private Vow xx). The tall, dark and handsome one. Will be very tall. All sibling are maturing in the 16.2 to 17 hand range. Full sibling is under saddle in a dressage barn. 12.5k

Empress IHF (Escher/Contendro I/Voltaire) got 2 qualifying scores yesterday at the Young Horse Show at Hickory Manor.

I honestly had many days where I thought that this filly would never make it to this stage. For those that remember, she was breech, extremely windswept and we have struggled to get her straight and healthy through her massive growth (she is 17 hands at 3 yrs and 1 month).

They might be third place ribbons, but this was a win in every way. 💕🏆🏅

These came up in my Timehop today as “3 years ago today” photos and I’m reminded that when we stopped fighting for this filly’s life, we had to fight to get her straight so that she would one day be a broodmare or a riding horse. Look at those legs. The last picture is from a couple of weeks ago on her third birthday. 💕

Sometimes you win

Three years ago this month, one of my favorite mares ever had one of the most frightening foalings that I have ever not witnessed (I was at work, sobbing, getting a text message play by play). Foaling started normally, followed by the frantic texts that they had back feet...facing up! It was a terrifying night (and a very expensive one). Ripped out backwards, the only filly that this mare would ever produce was born dead and was resusitated. She had 7 cracked or broken ribs and was so windswept that she wouldn't stand for days. Her constant scrambling to overcome her twisted limbs caused massive pressure sores when they were unable to sedate her due to the ribs. A hock surgery at six months would be required to finally close the last one. She has just been released from stall rest to remove a chip from the good side - a likely result from the uneven weight bearing from our early interventions. I have hidden this filly for years while we worked to get her straight and correct. She has been one of the gangliest foals I have ever raised. To the point that Garrett and Reagan began referring to her as "the camel" just to push my buttons. She really wasn't ready for her name, Empress IHF. Today I went to work and Reagan snapped a couple of pictures of "the camel" being turned out - no bath, no show grooming, just a 3 yr old going out. Like normal three year olds do. And tonight I was reminded why we do all that we do.....because sometimes, sometimes we win.
