"They always seemed to pass me by,
I never knew the reason why.
All my friends had found a home,
And only I remained alone.
But finally, somebody came,
And spoke to me with a gentle tone.
I hardly dared believe it true,
Into my human's arms, I flew.
Our first embrace - my heart beat fast,
A family of my own at last!
And when tonight I rest my head,
In my new warm and cozy bed.
A prayer I'll send, high up above,
May all the shelter pups find love."

Have an emergency plan in place for your pets! 🆘 ‼️
Emergencies can come in many forms: fires, tornadoes, violent storms, earthquakes, hurricanes, floods…

🐾 Have leashes and cat carriers easily accessible at all times and ensure you have one for each pet.

🐾 Make sure your pets microchips and tags are up to date with your contact information.

🐾 Have an emergency kit ready! Water bottle, food, bowl, cat pan/litter, medications, blanket, etc.

🐾 Who is your/their emergency contact? Who will take your pets if something happens or where can you bring them?
Make sure to have this planned now and the family all knows what the plan is and who those contacts are.

We never know when the unimaginable can happen. Pets are part of our family so we never want to leave them behind, so planning ahead can ensure their safety, helps reunite pets with their families and saves their lives!

To bring attention to the importance of ensuring the safety and well-being of our furry friends! We are expecting some incredibly cold weather. The temperatures will remain below freezing for days! Please be sure you have provisions for your pets to bring them inside if at all possible or provide safe shelter for below freezing temperatures. If you see a pet in distress, please call your animal control officer.
