Anyone know who this poor baby belongs to?

Update on Nutmeg

She has massive trauma to her Pelvis.

They will need to do a surgery. One portion will be an FHO (femoral head ostectomy), a surgical operation to remove the head and neck from the femur. It is performed to alleviate pain, and is a salvage procedure, reserved for condition where pain cannot be alleviated in any other way. The other is an I. S. LUX. Basically her hip is dislocated and will require a bolt to hold it together.

Right now doctors at BluePearl Veterinary Partners have her stabilized. Her temperature is down to 97 degrees.

As soon as she is well enough for surgery, they will perform it.

Please pray that she makes it through the night! In the meantime, please share the LDI post in hopes of finding her parents.

This is a wonderful rescue group. They are desperately looking for a foster for this dog. You can read about them in this post. A little update, he was neutered yesterday and the animal hospital that has been boarding him is giving them a couple more days to find a foster. See post for more details.

TIP: The next 4-6 weeks is mating season for coyotes. Please do not let your dogs out alone. The coyote gets your dog to chase him and then somewhere in the distance the pack waits for your dog. Then the outcome is tragic as they can & will attack/kill your pets (they will easily kill your cats also). Just be aware it can happen to your beloved pet. {Coyote breeding typically peaks in late February and early March, the gestation period averages 58 to 63 days. Male coyotes can become more aggressive during this time of year, the long and short of it all is that coyotes always pose a risk to your dog (and other small pets). That risk increases during mating season.}

I've been looking for a way to help the animals of Texas without being able to foster. This is a great shelter if anyone else is looking for the same!

Over the past several days, we've been monitoring the situation in Texas, attempting to figure out where/when/how we could be of best use to the animals in need. We have made our 8,000 sq ft FCRC facility in Alabama available to the national rescue programs as a temporary holding and transfer hub for these cats/dogs/farm animals in need of respite. Additionally, after a number of conversations with people on the ground in Texas, we were informed that countless groups have offered their help for the dogs, but the cats are in much more of a desperate need for rescue assistance. Our goal is to help where help is needed most, so we are stepping up for the cats of Texas. With your support, we will commit to rescuing up to 100 cats from the catastrophe areas and welcome them into the safety and care of Felines & Canines animal shelter in Chicago. We have our first group of cats arriving between this Friday and Monday, with follow-up transports to arrive in the upcoming days/weeks. This will undoubtedly be a significant strain on our limited financial resources, and we can't do it without your help.
