This story is like no other. George, this 10 years young adorable pittie came into The Humane Society of Harford County and while he was confirmed having cancerous tumors, the staff knew he had more time and love to give.

One of our amazing fosters Caroline saw George's worth and asked to foster for us so we could pull him from the shelter and into a home. These pups with terminal illness that we pull are in our fospice care, where the foster will care for them until the end. We do not let them suffer, we provide medical care, grace, and love they deserve in their final months or years. Usually, these pups stay with their fosters in our rescue until the end, however in George's case, there was a different outcome - he was ADOPTED!

George's new dad is over the moon to be able to give George a home. Yes, George has cancer, BUT it does not stop him from running, playing, and showing his dad every day that he deserves to be here.

We 💕 Duke’s Blankets!!

Some of you may know that my daughters and I came up with the idea for sewing blankets for animal shelters over 4 years ago when we adopted Duke. Since then, we have donated hundreds of blankets and bandanas to multiple shelters in MD and PA. We wanted to share our latest news.....we now have a website! Please check out www.dukesblankets.com. There you will find out more information about us and what shows we will be attending.

Aside from Duke's Blankets I also volunteer with Reed's Rescue. Each month we will feature a new dog that is need of either a foster or adopter.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us, and we can't wait to see what the future holds!

Besides BINGO last week, we were also busy pulling these 4 senior pups in our rescue. These gray faces don't deserve to sit in a shelter, they deserve a spoiled life. Welcome Emmie, Luigi, Duchess, and Milaan to the Reed's pack! We cannot continue to do the work we do without YOUR support. Please consider a donation so we can save more senior pups! https://www.reedsrescue.org/donate

SOS...this frosty face needs a miracle to make it out of the shelter this time 😞 We can pull with a foster.

FINAL PLEA ‼️‼️‼️Volunteer fave, Rosalia, URGENTLY needs a rescue due to some health issues just discovered.

Baltimore County Animal Services is urgently seeking rescue placement for Rosalia. Rosalia arrived as a stray at the beginning of March. Unfortunately, this is not Rosalia’s first time in a shelter, as she found herself in one in 2017 and was there 11 days short of a year before she was adopted. Rosalia’s previous owner was unable to reclaim her and she was made available for adoption here. Rosalia is 9 years old and 65 pounds.

Regrettably, Rosalia has medically deteriorated, as most senior dogs do. Our vet examined her today, March 24th, and found Rosalia is dragging her left hind leg and knuckling over. This may indicate a more severe condition than arthritis such as degenerative myelopathy or possibly cancer. Advanced imaging may be necessary to fully diagnose this condition. Pain medication has been initiated to keep her comfortable. Her exercise should be limited to minimize risk of injury.
