Benjamin had a deadline of 6pm to make it out of the shelter. We sent out the call for a foster to save him and Chelsea answered the call. Welcome Benjamin (and Chelsea) to the Reed’s pack! When we say fostering saves lives THIS is what we mean. ♥️

This meatball of a pup ended up at Baltimore County Animal Services needing medical attention, time to decompress and a rescue to pull her into their care. Our amazing volunteer Brittany stepped up immediately to take Penelope (formerly Fergie) into her home to foster. The happy ending for Penelope came when Brittany knew that the pup was meant to be a member of her family forever. Congrats Penelope and her new family for the best ending! 🐶♥️

Foster 🚨Benjamin, a sweet 6 years young pup has found himself at Prince George's County Animal Shelter. He does have a deadline by tomorrow at noon for us to pull him (Do NOT bash the shelter in this post, your comment will be deleted). We NEED a foster to pull him. He is dog friendly but not cat friendly in his past home.

The volunteers say this," He was quiet in his kennel and patiently waited his turn for a walk. He was easy to leash up and get outside, going potty right away and several times. He got to meet Chico and Dover, so there was a black and white convention, as Amy would say! He did really well meeting those boys and had good manners. Benjamin also met Tia through the fence and offered play bows and was very excited for a new friend. Benjamin is a big boy but he walks well on a leash and is pretty chill. He’s the perfect balance of easygoing and playful, come meet him today!"

Foster Friday: Two senior ladies Barki, 11 years young and Starki, 9 years young were surrendered to at the beginning of January due to their owner’s declining health. The shelter due to capacity and resources needed this bonded pair out immediately or sadly risk euthanasia. We couldn’t turn down the urgent plea for help.🐶🐶

We sprung these senior sweet girl out when one of current fosters stepped up to temporarily care for them. NOW, we need to find a permanent foster since that foster is already full of pups of her own and 2 other fosters. Yes, we know taking in two pups can be a huge ask. Though, we couldn’t see these senior girls not make it out of shelter. They deserve a second chance. Could you help us foster until they find their forever home? Welcome to the first ever where we plan to highlight organizations, volunteers, fosters, partners, donors, vet offices, and more for supporting our mission to save senior pups. First up, is Charm City Veterinary Hospital and Veterinary Emergency Group in Pikesville for taking care of our pups Snupe and Nike this past week. Both pups were battling a viral infection and poor Nike has a viral infection and a skin infection. These vet offices are fabulous partners to our rescue providing our pups with such great care, accepting our multiple concerned calls for timely appointments, and most of all helping us achieve our goal of giving senior dogs a second chance. THANK YOU!

MEET HARLEY: This sweet boy found himself at The Humane Society of Harford County this summer at the age of 15 years old. A pup at this age did not deserve to be at a shelter where he could be passed over by potential adopters due to his age. We quickly pulled him into our care thanks to a fabulous foster Lisa. NOW, it is time he spend his golden years in a permanent forever home.

Reed's Rescue is a foster based rescue, so we depend on YOU to help us save lives. Why should you foster?

❤ Fosters receive all supplies.
❤ Fosters do not pay for any vet visits or meds that the pup needs.
❤ Fosters get first chance to adopt their foster pup if they fall in love.
❤ Fosters save senior dogs in need.

These two senior girls were surrendered recently to Baltimore County Animal Services. The shelter is not a place for any senior dog especially a bonded pair. The time was ticking with them in a full/over capacity shelter. These pups are safe with us. They will be sprung tomorrow from the shelter and head to a temporary foster.

We NEED a permanent foster to give these ladies a chance. Please share or apply to be a foster. We cannot save lives without fosters and these girls deserved a second chance. ♥️🐶🐶

Foster 🆘 Meet Meteorite- 7 years old, unaltered male, 37lbs.

7-year-old cutie, Meteorite, was brought to BARCS after being found as a stray, wandering all alone outside in the cold and snow. BARCS staff says this, "He's new to us, so we're still getting to really know him, but so far he has been a gentle boy in our care who enjoys sniffing all the good smells during his walks."

Meteorite has the typical senior medical issues and he has pressure sores due to his low weight (not enough cushion when laying down). He is on a feeding schedule to help him gain weight safely. Our rescue provides all supplies and pays for all medical bills.

Meteorite is currently on stray hold until 1/11, and due to his multiple medical issues including low weight, we want to pull him into our rescue’s care, so we can help him become the pup he should be. Help us save this pup and give him the second chance he deserves.

Big Irv was with our rescue for almost a year and just a couple of weeks it became official- this big pittie boy, our handsome 2025 calendar cover model has a home. He not only won the lottery with his new family but has a tiny pup brother too whom he adores. Irv, have a life as sweet as you!
