Cedar was found with a collar embedded around her arm causing a deep laceration under her armpit. She was transported from BCAS to an AARF foster and veterinarian on Saturday, after being put on pain medication to make her more comfortable and antibiotics to prevent infection. We have chosen not to share graphic photos of the laceration

Cedar will require wound closure/ongoing care and laser treatment Baltimore Carpet Repair/Baltimore Home Serviceslife she deserves.

🚨 Her care costs with AARF are expected to approach $1500. Our friends at Baltimore Carpet Repair/Baltimore Home Services are providing a $500 Matching Grant for Cedar’s care - meaning each dollar donated up to $500 will be matched! 🚨

Despite her pain and young age, Cedar has been affectionate with her caregivers as her treatment kicks off.

6/28/23 Nemo has been waiting two years for his forever home!

Nemo is nice!!

Nemo is a 9-year-old tuxedo boy (DOB 3/28/2014) who came to Chesapeake Cats and Dogs (Queenstown, Maryland) in rough shape. He is diabetic and got some dental work done, so he is happier now. He does have some dry skin and feels best when we keep his fur shaved down a bit.

💝SWEET, PATIENT MOM WITH HER WOBBLY KITTEN LOOKING FOR A FOREVER HOME.

😺😺Thinking about adopting a cat? How about adopting TWO cats? Twice the fun and twice the amount of cuteness. This week’s featured pair is not only as cute as they come, but they have an inspirational story.

Suzy Q (F, 1 ½ years old) came to AARF as very underweight young mom with six kittens. Suzy Q and her babies gained weight and became happy and healthy in the loving care of an experienced AARF foster.

😻When Suzy’s baby girl, Snoball (F, 8 mos), turned out to have wobbly kitten syndrome*, Suzy Q took such good care of her that they are now a bonded pair. When Snoball loses her balance, Suzy Q is by her side to give her a few encouraging licks and make sure that Snoball is safe. These sweet girls groom each other, play and sleep together. They both enjoy cuddle time with their humans and playing with wand toys.

All of Snoball’s siblings have found loving homes, and now it is her turn to find a home with her mom.

🐈Snoball’s wobbly kitten syndrome does not prevent this sweet girl from having a happy life. Her balance is a bit off, so she needs an elevated food bowl and a home without stairs to be safe.

*Wobbly kitten syndrome (cerebellar hypoplasia) occurs when a part of a kitten’s brain does not develop correctly. Wobbly kitties have a normal life expectancy and love to play and run – they just move a bit slower and cuter than cats with normal balance.

💘SIMONE IS READY TO BE YOUR VALENTINE! 💘

Are you looking for a laid-back lap cat to keep you company in your quiet home? Do we have a cat for you!

Meet Simone (F, 1 year old). Her all-time favorite activity is snuggling up in her favorite person’s lap. A close second is making biscuits in her human’s lap while being petted, but Simone is not picky. She’s completely happy just lounging in your lap.

😻Even the most enthusiastic of lap cats need some time away from their human, and Simone loves to look out of the window and do some bird spotting. A lap near a window is bound to bo high on her list so she can combine all her favorite things.

🧑‍🦰👨🏽‍🦰🐈🐈‍⬛As much as Simone loves humans and laps, she is just as fond of other cats. She wants nothing more than to be friends with everyone, both people and kittycats. She would prefer a laid-back cat as her sidekick.

💜💙Simone does require a quiet environment. In fact, it is essential to her health. This sweet, gentle soul does not tolerate stress. Poor Simone gets seizures if she hears loud noises or needs to go in her carrier. Fortunately she is on medication (phenobarbital) to prevent the seizures from happening. Her medication is not expensive and she takes her tablets like a trooper.💙💜

This ball of fluff is actually four 5-week old Pom puppies, currently being transported from a local shelter partner to an AARF foster. The one in the middle, being warmed by its siblings, is a tiny runt that weighs in at less than 1lb.

We have very little information to share at this point, but will be seeking an evaluation for the too tiny pup as soon as possible due to significant health concerns.
