This is has been a very trying year. I have truthfully stated since day one that I self funded this rescue for the first two years. I went all in on the belief in all my heart that I was doing the right thing in helping the helpless. We placed well over 200 dogs during this time. I literally, blindly and selfishly spent the last dollar of my families savings “doing the right thing”. I allowed myself to be swayed and taken advantage of by those with good intentions who wanted dogs saved and had “solid plans”. Those “solid plans” resulted in dozens of dogs still in boarding and with paid Fosters.
To those who say we don’t pay our bills, you can clearly see we did until my own money ran out. I have begged and pleaded for help for the past year. I have stated that if every one of our followers donated $20 we would get out of this mess.
The truth is, there is no more money to pay expenses, boarding, vet bills, reimbursements etc. I am not a multi-millionaire. I have asked for my families forgiveness for my selfish and blind pursuit to do good has displaced them all, myself included.
For those who have posted lies about us not paying our bills, they were all paid until I used up our savings and I asked them to please share our fundraisers so we could raise money and pay our bills. They preferred to spew hate and lies.
This is where we are at. Your donations to continue the care of the dogs you wanted us to save are needed now more than ever. I poured my entire heart and soul into rescuing these deserving dogs and I literally almost gave my life to it.
The day we thought would never come because everybody seemed to give up on him except of course, us. Cooper FKA #A1823066 Hunter from the OC Shelter was rescued almost a year ago. He has finally found his forever home with one of the most amazing humans ever 🥰. A huge thank you to @rachels_farm who was the last person to foster him and helped us find his forever home. Dreams really do come true. Happy life precious boy ❤️

***It seems we have to clarify what closed for intake means.
It means we’re not pulling any dogs for fosters until the ones we currently have are placed and funding is available to care for dogs we pull.
Closed for INTAKE and entirely closed two completely different things.
Numerous rescues are currently in the same position.
This isn’t the first time a rescue has been closed for intake. It happens very frequently, sadly, thanks to flaky fosters and people who don’t honor their commitments to their dogs.
Unlike those people, rescues don’t dump the dogs on someone else or, even worse, dump them to die at the shelter.
Multiple rescues are currently closed for intake due to being overburdened and lacking resources.
So, again, we are NOT pulling dogs for fosters. We are also NOT permanently closed all together. If someone does reach out to any of you offering to foster, please send them our way so we can fit them with a dog already in the rescue***
And remember, your donations matter and make a difference. We have five more dogs needing vet care. It is never ending.
Back in January we put in a request to pull #A2095248 Bruce. A very sweet but stressed out boy. The shelter staff kept describing the other Bruce #A2115084 to us. We went back and forth and confirmed with them the Bruce that we were committing to rescue.
Well, guess what? When our transport picked him up and sent us the pictures, we realized they gave us the wrong Bruce 🤦🏽♀️. Okay, they do look almost identical and had the same name but now what?
Our transporter was concerned and sadly asked if she was going to have to take him back to the shelter. Of course not we said. We would never do that. So, we wound up with two Bruces who both need forever of foster homes.
Bruce #1 is very friendly and under 60 lbs. he’s is about 3 years old. He is good with other dogs and is just a joy to be around.
Bruce #2 has been doing to well after decompressing from the shelter. He is good with people but prefers to be the only dog for now. He is just over 60 lbs and is approximately 3 years old as well.
If you pledged for their rescue, please honor your pledges as their freedom video was never posted 🤦🏽♀️. Please like and share so we can get them into forever or foster homes. #bluenose
Angel #A5601899 rescued from Downey is ready for his forever home or foster! We rescued Angel because he had an adopter lined up who completely flaked on us. Angel was one of the confiscated dogs from the Compton Rescue fiasco.
Angel is not only beautiful, he is THE FRIENDLIEST dog you will ever meet. He loves other dogs, especially his bestie Leilani who is who also in need of a forever or foster home.
Angel is a 3 year old lab/pit. He’s under 60 lbs and honestly is just such a delight to be around.
Meet Giselle’s family members, Ruben, Angela, and their newest family member, dodger.
Dodger, formerly known as College was red listed at West Valley for the crime of Expressing his fear, confusion, and discomfort by growling and barking in his kennel.
He was made Rescue Only, unavailable to the public, with a euthanasia date of today. Because he was miserable and scared, instead of delirious with joy at being in a loud and scary shelter.
Volunteers got him out in the yard, helped him relax, and show the world who he really was.
Angela and Ruben, on vacation, saw the networking video. They came home and straight to the shelter for the reason of adopting him.
Knowing he was going to a great home, with people who know and love the breed, who were committed to their boy who crossed the rainbow bridge to the tune of over $10,000 in a lifesaving effort, who have proved themselves committed to their dogs in the past, we were happy to jump in and make this absolutely stunning pup’s happily ever after dream a reality. Please honor your pledges ❤️
Our poor Diesel just can’t catch a break and for that matter, neither can we 😭. Diesel was rescued from @westvalley_shelter in December. He had an amazing adopter lined up but she was currently fostering a dog aggressive dog so we sent Diesel to a “trusted” caregiver.
After several months, she was able to place her foster dog and finally take in her sweet Diesel boy. It was discovered that he had been horribly neglected during his boarding stay and wound up costing us $2300 in surgeries.
We were absolutely devastated so see our sweet boy in such condition. Especially with someone we trusted. But he was safe and now in very loving hands. His foster has been taking extraordinary care of him, nursing him back to health. He is a happy, well adjusted boy.
Now he is having skin issues and lesions which are going to require further testing and care. Our last fundraiser for him only raised $231.00 ☹️. Diesel isn’t the only dog in our rescue requiring ongoing medical care. It is seriously never ending. I know people mistakenly believe rescues are sitting on mounds of money. I can assure you, we most certainly are not.
Ongoing medical bills are yet another reason we are on an intake freeze. We encourage our followers to join our Patreon and become monthly sponsors. I self funded this rescue for the first two years. That money is spent and long gone to vets, fosters, training, transports and boarding fees and we still have balances due.
**if just half of our followers (3500) donated $20 a month, we could start paying off our debts and begin the build out of the sanctuary. It’s simple math. Our expenses outweigh our donations 50 to 1 **
We have another happy adoption announcement! Jake FKA Squirrel NKA Brooksie rescued from the OC Shelter last year went to his forever home over the weekend 😁. Brooksie was originally pulled for an approved adopter who decided after just 4 months, she didn’t want him anymore 🙄
So, Brooksie was placed with paid sitters and boarders because there were no available nor willing fosters $$$. Brooksie is such an amazing dog and the frustration grew that he was simply getting overlooked. Well, his forever family knew he was special and Brooksie has settled in instantly and is living the life in Texas ❤️
Okay peeps. Why hasn’t adorable little Romy found a home yet? Romy is a three year old 20 lb terrier who is house trained and good with other dogs. Romy is a bit standoffish with strangers (earned him a euth list spot at the shelter) but sweet as pie once he warms up to you ❤️ He is currently in the Los Angeles area. Please like and share. #20lbterrier #terrier
