Nova’s Berry litter of bernedoodles are 5 weeks old. Genetic testing has returned and the whole litter are Bobba’s. They are about 35% BMD. 4 are unfurnished which means a smooth face and may have some shedding but will be an easier coat maintenance. Have you taught your dog a “focus” command? I call it eyes, you can call it watch me, look, eyes, focus, whatever you want. It is useful to get their attention before they can react to something. Also useful when you start a healing pattern, or Rally course. And useful to interrupt a behavior. Start training by rewarding them when they look at you. Then start naming it. Put a treat between your eyes and when they look at it give it to them. Then progress by putting the treat in one hand, holding your hands out to the side and when they stop looking at the treat and look at your face, use the “yes” marker word and give them the treat. Progress for longer intervals. Camp Woods Legacy is pleased to announce the placement of Olive to Grace Kitchen as a facility dog. Grace Kitchen is a nonprofit that offers hope and opportunity for lasting change to women survivors of trafficking, addiction, homelessness and poverty. We do this by fostering a community of Grace where women learn job and life skills that enable them to gain sustainable employment and a secure future for themselves and their children. Olive will be offering comfort and companionship to the women who utilize and work at Grace Kitchen. Camp Woods Legacy is a nonprofit that donates fully trained dogs to be facility dogs and therapy dogs as well as untrained puppies to people deserving. Leaving a legacy one paw print at a time.

The proof is in the pudding! Well temperament parent dogs make for amazing temperament puppies. I show this constantly whether it is my dogs doing therapy, training or out socializing. If you are going to buy from a breeder make sure you know the temperament of the parents and have proof not just some adjectives describing them. I go above and beyond to prove my parents and my program. I will accept 2 more reservations for Willow’s litter before they are born at the end of the month. Learning to Pivot! Several times I have had to pivot my plans for my program. When dealing with lives, nature and things out of my control I have to adapt. Fern is being spayed and will be rehomed to a forever home. These decisions are hard! Fern came into my life after a huge pivot. 3 years ago the original plan was to breed a litter of Bernese Mountain Dogs with Oak and hold back 2 females. But what happened instead was Oak had 4 males and we lost 2 females and had an emergency spay. I kept Atticus and purchased two female poodles for bernedoodles, Fern and Mossy. Then the puppy market crashed, I have had puppies stay longer, I have had guardian dogs returned, I am raising dogs and puppies for my nonprofit and my pack has grown. Being a responsible breeder includes doing what is best for our adult dogs, I can’t be selfish. Wouldn’t it be wonderful for Fern to live in a home where she may be the only dog or with fewer dogs where she has the attention of a devoted family? Fern gave us a variety of litters poodles, bernedoodles and goldendoodles. I am so thankful for her contribution of leaving a legacy one paw print at a time!

Hey freins, its me Rachel. I got a new vest so mama T took me out to show it off. It says I’m in training, I think I’m training to be a superhero! I had to go to my doctor and get weighed, I’m not embarrassed that I am almost as big as my mom. I rode on weird moving things that went up and down. I scared myself in the mirror again! Mama T always makes me lay down where eveyone walks. I got close enough to the shoes this time I could smell them. I meet some nice people and one said I calmed her down. Mama T said I was amazballs!
