We at Whispering Pine K9 want to express our sincere gratitude for inviting Nick to speak at the 3-Day Professional K9 TrainersProfessional K9nProfessional K9 Trainers Development Conference well-organized event and to share space with so many passionate trainers dedicated to improving the craft. What an incredible idea to unite us all as one—exactly the way it should be.

Each of us truly enjoyed meeting and learning from other professionals, exchanging knowledge, and hearing the unique perspectives that make this community so strong. The energy in every room was inspiring, and we left feeling humbled and motivated to keep learning and growing.

If you haven’t already signed up for next year’s conference, secure your spot early! You don’t have to be a professional trainer to attend—pet parents, groomers, those thinking about adding a dog to their family, or anyone curious about working dogs, sport prospects, therapy dogs, SDITs, or SAR teams can all learn and grow by simply being there.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to stay connected with everyone we met and look forward to future trainer join-ups and collaborations.

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for reminding us that even in our loneliest moments, we are never truly alone. You place people, words, and even faithful companions in our path to comfort and strengthen us.

Help us remember that the greatest love of all begins when we learn to see ourselves through Your eyes, worthy, capable, and loved beyond measure. When we love ourselves in Your light, we are better able to love others and lift them up.

As iron sharpens iron, let us be people who sharpen one another, encouraging, listening, and standing together in faith. For those who are hurting or feel unseen today, let them feel Your presence wrapping around them, reminding them that their life has purpose and that they are deeply loved.

Teach us to be vessels of Your love, Lord, so that when others cross our path, they see hope reflected in us. May we walk forward with gentle strength, carrying the greatest love of all, the one You placed inside each of us.

As we enter November, we pause to reflect — on the blessings we’ve been given, the lessons learned, and the people and animals who’ve shaped our journey.

This month reminds us to remember those who came before us, and to give thanks for every moment we’re entrusted with today. Gratitude keeps us grounded, humility keeps us teachable, and love keeps us moving forward.

At Whispering Pine K9, we’re thankful for every client who believes in us, every dog who teaches us something new, and every chance to serve our community.

👆👆👆👆 THIS is exactly what we do AND did this past weekend. PRAISE IT FORWARD 🙏🙏 💪🏼💪🏼 Building Stronger Together 💪🏼💪🏼

This past weekend, we had an incredible time at our unofficial mock PSA trial and training day with BAMF K9 and Malicious Intent K9

HUGE thanks to everyone who helped establish mutual training grounds, set up the field, ran dogs, caught dogs, and supported one another throughout the day — it truly takes a village.

Every dog and handler left the field with something gained, and that’s what this sport is all about — growth, teamwork, and pushing each other to be better. When handlers and clubs unite as one, the sport grows stronger for everyone.

We’re looking forward to continuing to train, collaborate, and build with other clubs and nomad handler teams as we work together to strengthen the PSA community.

In Loving Memory of Allison Marie Marcum

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our dear friend and fellow competitor, Allison Marie Marcum.

Her calling hours will be held Friday, October 24, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Johnson-Smith Funeral Home, 207 S. Main Street, Baltimore, Ohio.
Her funeral service will be Saturday, October 25, 2025 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1965 Lutheran Church Road SE, Lancaster, Ohio. A showing begins at 11:00 AM, followed by the service at 12:00 PM, with burial immediately after.

Allison’s life and role as a PSA competitor brought an exceptional level of dedication, competitive spirit, and community to everyone around her. She embodied not only strength — always striving for excellence — but also kindness, encouragement, and a genuine willingness to lift others up.

Outside of competition, she was the heart and soul of Marcum K9 Obedience in Canal Wi******er, Ohio, dedicating years to helping dogs and their families build stronger, more trusting relationships.

Allison’s beloved dog Rocco stood beside her through countless hours of training, trial preparation, and the daily work that defined her passion. The bond they shared was one of absolute loyalty and love — the kind that inspires anyone lucky enough to witness it. Their teamwork and trust reflected everything Allison believed in: communication, connection, and heart.

Her dogs Spartan and Bali were also an important part of her life and vision for the future. She spoke often about seeing them on the PSA trial field one day, carrying forward the dream she had built. In her honor, we hold that hope close — that Spartan and Bali will continue the legacy she started.

In remembering Allison, Rocco, Spartan, and Bali, let’s celebrate:
• Their unwavering dedication and passion, both on and off the field.
• Her generosity — how she gave of herself to lift others and share her skills.
• The way she turned her passion into a calling, helping dogs and people thrive together.
• The memories they created through their actions, encouragement, and presence.

To her family, friends, clients, teammates, and everyone whose life she touched — we extend our deepest condolences. May the memories of Allison’s warmth, her laughter, and the partnerships she built with her dogs bring comfort in this difficult time.
