This Fourth of July, we urge pet parents to plan ahead to help ensure their animals' safety and happiness during the holiday!

If you have lost a dog, don't panic! Please visit the shelter, in person to look for your lost dog.

Holiday Hours:
Wednesday, 7/3 - 11am - 7pm
Thursday 7/4 - CLOSED in observance of the holiday.
Friday, 7/5 - 11am - 7pm.
Saturday and Sunday, 7/6 - 7/7 - 9am - 5pm.

Volunteering is a rewarding experience and helps to provide much-needed services to the dogs in our community who need us the most.

Once you have completed your Volunteer onboarding, there will be Volunteering opportunities available to you including but not limited to dog walking, grooming, dog playgroup, our Shy Dog Program, hiking, field trips, and so much more!

It’s April 1st, and that means FREE microchips - all month long!

We are thrilled to share that in collaboration with Pet FBI Ohio the Franklin County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center will be providing FREE microchips + free lifetime registration to every lost dog being reclaimed from our shelter throughout the entire month of April.

Did you know that microchips serve as the only permanent form of identification with a nationwide, searchable registry database?

Recent studies show that microchipped pets are THREE TIMES more likely to return home to their families than those without.

If your dog has escaped your care, please do not wait. Visit the Franklin County Dog Shelter in-person right away to look for your lost dog.
