Our Marketing Director is meditating and brainstorming this morning and wants to remind you to spay and neuter your pets to avoid overpopulation and prevent the killing to create space in shelters for more unwanted litters, abandoned, abused, or surrendered cats and dogs.

What are some behavioral benefits of spaying and neutering?

🐕‍🦺 Helps prevent animals from trying to escape their yards or homes to find a mate to reproduce with.
🐩 Stops house soiling and spraying, which is the marking of objects with a spray of urine.
🐈 Eliminates continuous barking or meowing.
🐕 Reduces aggression such as fighting with other pets and biting humans or other pets.

Georgia is overwhelmed with uncontrolled breeding, too many strays and owner surrenders. Animal shelters/rescues and humane societies are turning away animals in need due to overcrowding and not enough fosters further contributing to the pet overpopulation. Many of these animals end up being euthanized. According to the animal shelter statistics, Georgia ranks 5th with 43,000 killed shelter animals in 2022.

This is how Miss Shirley’s Place Co. (MSP) was born and the 501(c)(3) non-profit was formed in 2022. The mission offers a proactive solution in reducing the pet overpopulation where there are more animals than homes.
