Perry was walked in to a local shelter, found as a stray. He was clearly someone's beloved dog at some point because he was well-fed, well-groomed, people-friendly, and knew how to sit. Perry passed his temperament test, but he was heartworm positive and therefore set to be euthanized because government-funded animal control facilities just don't have the funds for extensive medical treatments and
housing animals for that long. Fortunately for Perry, a wonderful veterinarian said she would treat him for free, and with the help of some determined two-leggeds, Perry made his way to the vet clinic. Perry is looking for a loving and fun-loving home that will give him plenty of attention, exercise, and training--and the occasional cheeseburger. In return, you'll get the unconditional love of this big ol' squishy head. Perry's stats:
*approximately 2 year old male Pit Bull terrier/American Staffordshire terrier (best guess)
*seems good with most dogs and kids, although due to his size he probably needs a home with older children
*needs a cat-free home
*loves chasing toys in water
*loves going for walks, jogs, and runs
*neutered, up-to-date on shots and microchipped
*comes with three FREE in-home training sessions
*available for a $100 adoption fee through Rescued Heart Animal Hospital in Pekin, Illinois (309/346-2330)
