Meet Carla – the Sweetest Little Cockapoo You’ll Ever Meet!

Carla is a 2-year-old Cockapoo (Cocker Spaniel/Poodle mix) weighing just 9 pounds and fully grown. This tiny girl has a heart as big as they come. After being surrendered by a breeder, Carla has put her past behind her and is ready for a life filled with love, comfort, and companionship.

Despite what she’s been through, Carla’s temperament is nothing short of wonderful. She is incredibly sweet, gentle, and affectionate. She loves attention and will melt your heart with the way she nestles into you—placing her paws or her little head in your hand to ask for more pets. It’s clear that love is all she’s ever wanted, and now she finally gets to have it.

Carla does great with other dogs of all sizes and is even cat-friendly. She’s a very good girl who just wants to be close to her people. She’s currently working on house training and crate training, and her forever family should be ready to continue helping her in a structured, positive environment. Meet Walt!

Hi everyone, I’m Walt! I’m an 8.5 month old mixed-breed pup weighing in at about 50 pounds, and I’ll likely grow to be around 65ish pounds once I’m all grown up. For now, though, I’m just a goofy, happy guy figuring out the world—and loving every minute of it.

My favorite things? Oh, where do I start… squeaky toys make me SO happy, running around the yard is basically the best game in the world, and making friends is kind of my specialty. I love people and other dogs alike, and I never say no to playtime.

I’m doing really well with my house training and can’t wait to keep learning with a family who will guide me as I grow. I’m smart, eager, social, and full of energy—so I’d love a home that’s ready for both the fun and the snuggles.

Meet Scotty — A Sweet Boy Looking for His Safe Place

Scotty is a 2-year-old, 15-pound terrier mix with soulful eyes and a heart full of love just waiting to be discovered. He’s one of those dogs who may seem shy at first, but once he realizes he’s safe, his true personality shines — affectionate, loyal, and oh-so-sweet.

Life before rescue didn’t give Scotty the socialization he deserved, so new people and situations can be a little scary for him. But with gentle guidance and a patient heart, Scotty will show you just how wonderful he is — full of quiet affection, soft tail wags, and a deep, loving bond.

Say hello to Damien!

A soft, sweet little 7/8 pound Maltipoo boy who’s learning all about love for the very first time. Damien spent his first year in a breeder facility, so the world is still new to him—but this boy’s heart is pure gold. You’ll know you’ve won him over when his tail starts wagging a mile a minute the second you talk to him in a happy voice!

Damien is gentle, affectionate, and eager to please. He might be shy when you first meet him, but once he realizes you’re there to love him, he’ll lean right into your hands for pets and attention. He’s currently working on crate training and sleeping soundly in his crate at night. House training is a work in progress—he’s doing well with outdoor potty breaks and using pads.

He’s excellent with other dogs (he’s been around them his whole life) and is also cat-friendly. Having another confident dog in the home would help Damien continue to learn and feel secure as he grows into his personality.

Meet Darrin!

A gentle little soul ready to start the life he’s always deserved! Darrin is a 7/8 pound, one year old Maltipoo who came to us as a breeder release. Until recently, he’d only known life inside a kennel—but you’d never guess it from how much his tail wags when he hears a kind voice!

Darrin is still learning that people can be safe and loving, so he can be a little shy at first. But give him a few minutes (and maybe some baby talk), and you’ll see his sweet personality shine through. He loves attention and affection once he feels comfortable and will happily soak up all the love you offer.

He’s currently working on crate training and sleeps quietly in his crate at night. During the day, he’s learning house manners and doing great with both outdoor potty breaks and using pads. Darrin is fantastic with other dogs and even does well with cats—he’s very used to canine company and would love a home with another friendly pup to show him the ropes.

What Darrin needs most is a patient, gentle family who understands that he’s still figuring out what it means to be a beloved pet. With love and time, this little guy is going to blossom into a joyful, loyal companion. He’s neutered, up to date on vaccines, and will come with a health certificate.

Meet Guinness & Harp!

Guinness (the handsome boy) and Harp (his sweet sister) are an adorable pair of 3-month-old Doberman/Poodle mixes weighing about 25 pounds each — and they’re still growing! These two are going to be big, beautiful dogs when fully grown, with all the smarts, athleticism, and charm that comes with their breeds.

These pups came to us after an accidental litter — mom is a Doberman (we met her and she’s an absolute sweetheart!) and dad is said to be a Merle Poodle. Their original family found homes for most of the litter, but Guinness and Harp were the last two left, so they joined our rescue to find their forever families. They both have wonderful temperaments and love everyone they meet.

Guinness and Harp are everything you could want in a puppy: friendly, outgoing, playful, and affectionate. They love to cuddle, give endless puppy kisses, and be right by your side. They’re also smart and eager to please, especially if treats are involved! These two are very food-motivated and would thrive in homes that enjoy training and adventures.

They’ve done great with dogs of all sizes and love to romp around and play. After some playtime, they’re just as happy to snuggle up for a nap. They’re currently working on house and crate training — sleeping well in their crate overnight and spending plenty of supervised playtime during the day. Their forever families will need to continue that training as they grow.

By the time they’re ready to go home, Guinness and Harp will be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, and come with a health certificate. Guinness and Harp are sure to bring lots of love, laughter, and joy to their new families. Apply today!

Honoring Heroes Human and Canine This Veterans Day 🐕‍🦺🇺🇸

As we pause to thank the brave men and women who’ve served our nation, our hearts at Live Free Animal Rescue go out to all veterans who’ve sacrificed so much. Your courage inspires us every day, and we’re especially grateful for the unbreakable bond between service members and their four-legged partners. The loyal dogs who’ve stood by your side through it all.

We celebrate the incredible Military Working Dogs (K9s) who detect danger, provide comfort, and save lives. Their heroism reminds us of the power of service in every paw print.

A special shoutout to our own Amanda, President of our Board of Directors and a dedicated career U.S. Air Force veteran. Amanda’s leadership and passion drive our mission to give second chances to animals in need, drawing from her own experiences of service, resilience, and love for our furry friends.
