This sweet kiddo was a little nervous to trot after witnessing a horse accident, so I hopped on with her ❤️

PSA I don’t typically condone double riding, but figured I was the one in the danger zone

Brooke has overcome so many issues since she’s been in the training program. We have now graduated from groundwork to riding. Brooke had some serious PTSD from having her face pulled on. You could tell she was a ball of nerves, even when the slightest amount of pressure was being applied. Here we are today! Go girls, go!

Brooke came to me with trailer loading issues. She’d balk, run backwards, and rear. Look at her now!

Rachel has been working really hard on her barrel pattern for the past couple of months. I’m so proud Stephanie Metz

Easter egg hunt on horseback for the win! This game helps you practice small, fluid cues! It also requires a great deal of patience. Our eggs were filled with instructions, horse facts, and questions. We had a blast!

This girl came to me with some major attitude issues. She literally wanted to “kill” her farrier, and had to be drugged in order to have her feet done. I’ve had her for almost one month. Today she was able to be shoed without meds. She stood still with her head lowered while licking and chewing. Groundwork works.

Spent some time with this big man today. Worked on personal space, cantering on a line, and giving his head. Happy Sunday ☺️

My little, half crippled girl ❤️. It was difficult to give my kiddos back their horse after demos. She’s definitely not a barrel horse, but we had a blast pretending.

Miss Java was a little too energetic this morning. She was having a difficult time focusing and was a little on edge. Kayla took a break from riding to correct her behavior by doing some groundwork. This was Kayla’s first time in the round pen. I’d say she killed it!

Here’s to the first mega scorching week of the summer. We changed our lessons up a bit to give the girls a break. Today we learned about viruses and vaccines! Just water! I also didn’t turn these kids loose with needles 😬

Trick riding with one of my favorite girls on one of my most well behaved horses. Winnie was not this well mannered when we got her. This is what a lot of
groundwork does for your horse. Watch to see how ground time spills over into your rides!

My little wrangler 💕. The top picture was taken the first day I got him. The bottom was less than a year later. This is what hard work and dedication looks like. Preaching this to all of my students. It doesn’t matter where you start. What matters is where you go from there.

Here’s our Java girl! Look her up! We got her for free because she is blind in one eye. It was us or the meat market, literally. She actually has some killer bloodlines!

A little throwback post from my running days. When I bought this horse, he was afraid of everything. Literally scared himself to see the hay moving out of the corner of his mouth while he was eating. He was an off the track, quarter horse (almost pony). I trained him myself. We had to learn everything on and off the ground. Here he is. We were both fresh off of a several year long break. This is a run on a large pattern. We missed the fastest time of the night by a few tenths of a second. Go boy, go!

One of my all time, favorite runs. Wrangler was a super hot horse. He was bred to run. He loved to run. We knocked a pole down during this pattern. I asked him to slow down and he did. He listened without any fuss. Even when we don’t “win”, we still win 💕
