Kolt got to be the first one to take Ruby in to the sorting pen! As the owners, we couldn’t be more proud of our mare for listening and taking care of this fine young man. Ruby is our 5yr old mare who is the go to boss around here for jobs. Her first time to town was for a couple of ranch rodeos this past summer but this was her first sorting. Way to handle her Kolt! Looky looky what Sam and Handler brought home! They took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the beginner level. Jarrid and Ruby even brought home a 2nd place in the open! The kids were so worn out that they slept until 8:30 this morning.

Miss Lena’s second time on the flag! Jarrid said it’s been years since he’s had a horse hook up to the flag as quickly as she did. The flag is a great tool to help slow a horse down and teach them how/where to move their body. Excited to see how this 4 yr old progresses!

First saddling and ride for Moose today. We keep first rides short and make sure to end on a good note. Moose rode around in a couple of circles and then took a couple of steps back as asked and was licking his lips and swallowing which means he’s relaxing. Very good note to end on.

Jarrid and Ruby with the Circle F team at the ranch rodeo in Stockton last night! Couldn’t move the camera fast enough to keep up with Ruby! That big girl is a powerhouse and is liking some competition! And Jarrid is alright, his outside rein came undone as he dismounted which threw him off balance a little bit. The team ended up placing second in the trailer loading event.

Sam and Handler competed for the first time together in a ranch horse competition. They got some experience under their belt and had fun. Some were a little shocked to find out that Handler is 20 years old 😆 he certainly doesn’t act like it!
