Tampa, FL

This sweet boy just lost his daddy. He is hoping there is someone out there who will want to bring him into their family so he can get over the loss and live the rest of his life with the love he has already known. His name is Jax and he is only 2 years old. His 80 year old daddy recently passed away and his momma is just not able to care for a big, strong Rottie boy.

Jax has been through basic obedience, is being neutered and is ready to find his forever home. He does well with respectful dogs close to his size, but has not been around cats or kids. He is currently being boarded at the vet near Tampa/Spring Hill Florida. If you live within driving distance and would like to meet and possibly adopt Jax, please message us and we will help make the arrangements for you to do so. Transport can also be made available if the perfect home comes along that is a bit further away.

We have an urgent plea!! Foster needed ASAP!! The finders have decided that they are taking Theo to the shelter on Friday if we can’t find a place for him.

Looking for a foster or foster to adopter.
Baton Rouge Louisiana but willing to assist in arranging transport! In order to manage his care we require the foster be in the Gulf Coast area in LA, MS, AL or the FL Panhandle 🐾🖤

This handsome boy was found wandering.
We looked for his owners for a while but believe he could have been dumped.
Neighbors have been fostering him but are unable to do much more for him. Their male dog does not get along with him.☹️

He received all his vaccine and got his heartworm check which was unfortunately positive. He started on Advantage multi and doxy. He will be retested in a couple months and then neutered when deemed appropriate.

He is a typical big headed smart but stubborn rottie boy! Breed experience is required.
He has been kids tested and was very good with them. He crashed an Easter party during his photo shoot!
We tested with large docile dogs and did well.
He has NOT been small dog or cat tested.
Good in crates and house trained. Please let us know if you can help Theo.

3/3 UPDATE: there is no such thing as failure! Brinley’s foster mom has realized that the best for Brinley was right there with her! So, we are going to call this a foster win!

Meet Brinley. This sweet girl has been in foster here in Milton FL and is ready to find her forever home. She is about 3 years old and so sweet. She is good with other dogs and would live a playmate she can romp with. She has lots of energy but also loves to cuddle and is the best snuggler.

If you would like to give this sweetie a forever home, please fill out an application at https://gulfcoastrottweilerrescue.org/pre-adoption-application/

02/13/2023

We don't usually post personal stuff on the rescue page, but I wanted to take a moment and talk about why we even started the rescue. For every person who chooses to devote themselves to this calling, there is that one dog that speaks to them, that looks into your soul and tells you, yes, you can do this! For me, that one is Beauregard.

I had never really shared my life with a dog before. Friends had dogs, I liked them and felt a connection, but never felt like they were something I needed. I was a cat person. But Amy would just tell such wonderful stories about her dogs, especially about Rex her Rottie, so I read about the breed and was done talking and ready to make the plunge. We still had 6 cats at the time, so we were looking for a puppy.

We called about one listed on PetFinder, but he had already been adopted. But, Amy being Amy, she chatted with the person and we were told about a litter of puppies, just hours old, that had been taken in by L&R Rescue. So Amy called, and talked, and before we knew it, we were throwing on our clothes and driving to Gulf Breeze to see tiny little puppies. She lifted the top of the crate and inside were tiny little beans of fur. We wanted a boy and knew, as soon as we saw him, that Beau bean was ours. The foster explained that she had a house full of dogs as well as another litter of puppies in a crate on the front porch. Her son was helping her bottle feed the newborns (I think there were 6 of them). We told her we wanted him, talked about how I worked from home and had experience with bottle baby kittens. But she wouldn't let us take him, not even as a foster. I don't blame her, she had no real idea who we were! We went home after explaining that Amy would come by after work every day to help feed him until we could bring him home.

The next afternoon, after Amy had again worked her gift of gab, I got a call saying she wasn't coming home alone! I rushed to the store and bought formula, bottles, and I can't even remember what else! Excitement and terror together, what were we getting ourselves into! And then this most perfect of boys came home and forever changed our lives.

I could go on and on about what an amazing dog Beauregard is, how he taught me about unconditional love and joy and pack and cuddles and kisses and to just enjoy the now. Through my love for him we opened our home and heart to fostering for a rescue, and we had more dogs to love. And some stayed, and others went to find their forever home. And Beau taught them all about trust and love. And then we started to rescue for another rescue, the circle growing wider as we met more Rottie people and made strong friends. And then we started our own rescue, saving even more. All because of Beau. His love has saved so many, I have lost count.

He is our forever boy, but on Saturday, he lost his battle with cancer. I still can't process this, he has always been here, and his spirit and love will always be. I will never not have a Rottie in my life, these dogs are simply incredible. So, that is our story, our reason why. He our love and joy and now joined our angel pack with Priscilla, Re*****on, Matilda, Duchess, Suzie, and the others who were saved and have since crossed the bridge.

Sweet Ellie May needs a new home. Through no fault of her own, she is losing her family and is on the lookout for one that will be hers, forever. Ellie is about a year old, 100% Rottweiler with a full tail. She is sweet, full of energy, smart, and easy to train. She is very food motivated! She has had a bit of training but will need more as she is a bit jumpy.

Ellie would do well in a home either as an only child, spoiled princess or with a male Rottie or other large breed dog. She is NOT good with cats! Because of her jumping and energy level, she is best suited for a home with older kids, if any.

Ellie is a sweetie, and ready to be your cuddle girl! If you would like to be considered to adopt her, please fill out our application: https://gulfcoastrottweilerrescue.org/pre-adoption-application/

Hi! My name is Rex and I am looking for my forever family. I can’t tell you where I got got my start in life but I can tell you that I am a super good boy. I have been in foster for over two months and my foster family brags about me all the time. I stumbled into their yard in March and I was a little scared and my paws were pretty sore. Don’t worry. My paws healed pretty quick. I just needed a little rest. Despite an exhaustive search, no one knows where I came from. Fast forwarding, I am now fully vaccinated, neutered and healthy. I love to play. Tug and fetch are my favorite games. I like car rides, the beach, adventures and hanging out with people. When I do stay home by myself, I am a perfect gentleman. I have stayed in a crate and I am good with that but since I am a such a good boy, I free roam. I have not done one bad doggy thing. You don’t have to worry about your remote, socks, couch or anything else. Speaking of the couch, I generally only get on the furniture when invited and I sleep in my own bed but if you want, I’ll be happy to share your bed. If it’s not already obvious, I am house trained and I also know some basic manners (sit, down and paw). Not to brag, but I am really a great doggo. I have met a few other dogs and I played nicely with all of them, big or small, male or female. I have seen a few cats on my walks. I show some interest but maintain my distance so I don’t really know how I’d do if I actually met one. I also don’t have much experience with children. I think my ideal family would be a person or people that are looking for a fun-loving friend that is always up for fun. I am also very happy to sit by your side and watch TV. If you’d like to meet me, please fill an application at https://gulfcoastrottweilerrescue.org/pre-adoption-application/

Please read this post completely. If this sounds like you, please complete an application and we will be in touch. We have a very special boy coming into rescue. His name is Forest Gimp and he is almost 6 weeks old. We are working with his breeder to find him a very special home, one where he can get the support and care he will need. You see, Forest's back leg got wrapped up in utero and did not develop as it should. Because of this, it is stunted and the nerves to the leg did not properly develop. He has been to the ortho specialist and he may need to have the leg removed in a few months.

We are looking for a home that has Rottie experience, because he is going to be 100% strong willed, smart, fun, energetic Rottie boy. We would also love if you have experience with physical special needs dogs and have the time to devote to making sure this amazing boy has the best life possible. He will need to go to a home with older kids and with dogs that aren't going to be too rough and knock him down. His other back leg is going to need to be strong and healthy to continue to support his body weight as he gets older. We would also want you to have a single story house, preferably with carpet so he will have traction. I know this sounds weird, but going up and down stairs and maneuvering on hard floors is not going to be good for him.

All of his medical expenses are being covered, and we will not want him to be neutered until he is about 2 (which will also be paid for), so his bones and joints fully develop.

If you think you can give this sweet boy the very best home, please fill out and submit our application and we will be in touch: https://gulfcoastrottweilerrescue.org/pre-adoption-application/

Lois Lane is looking for her Superman (or woman)! This wonderful girl is a victim of the breed restrictions so many of our breed, and their owners, fall prey to. Her daddy is moving from Florida to Georgia and has been unable to find a place that will rent to them with a Rottweiler. He has had to make the horrible decision to surrender his girl so his family is not homeless.

Lois is 4 years old, spayed, up to date on shots, chipped, heart worm negative. She has lived with children and a Yorkie and is just a doll. She needs to find her new home in the next few weeks. If you would like to adopt Lois Lane, please complete our application at: https://gulfcoastrottweilerrescue.org/pre-adoption-application/

Located in Pensacola Florida

Meet Rex. He may not be 100% Rottie but he IS 100% good boy! He was rescued by an absolutely wonderful couple after he appeared in their backyard, feet torn up and sore from running for who knows how long. They kept him, nursed him back to health, tried to find his family, but nobody has claimed him (and he is not chipped). So, they contacted us to help find this amazing boy a forever home.

Rex is about 1 to 2 years old and the sweetest boy. He is crate trained, house trained, not destructive and no signs of separation anxiety. They have left him alone at home and he is a perfect gentleman. He does jump when he is excited (he is learning manners) but has been around neighbor kids and loves to play fetch and has a soft mouth and no signs of resource guarding. He has not been around other dogs but we will be doing a meet and greet to check temperament. He is fine seeing other dog on walks as long as they don't react to him. He is about 60 to 7- pounds and has a cute curly full tail. He really just wants to be with his person(s) hanging out, playing ball, napping at your feet. He would be a fantastic dog for an active family, or couple, who can spend time with him and shower him with love (he's kind of a fan of cuddles!).

If you would like to adopt Rex, please complete our application at: https://gulfcoastrottweilerrescue.org/pre-adoption-application/

Meet Axel. This sweet boy is urgently in need of a new home. He is about 2 years old, neutered and up to date on shots. He is a very active guy who is looking for a home where he will have space to run and play and an owner ready to put the time in to help Axel be the best boy he can be. He is located in the Pensacola Florida. He is good with other dogs, with proper introductions but is not a fan of cats. Because of his energy level he will do best in a home with older children. Everyone meet Lance ( short for Lancelot ). He is appox 1 1/2 yr old located in Penscola,FL. We would love to be able to bring him into the rescue but we need a Foster home for him.

We are looking for a home without cats, small children or other dogs. We have not been able to test him with other dogs yet so that could change. Since he is so young, and lacking in social skills and obedience, we would love to find a home where he will not be alone for long periods of time. His shelter temp test was great and he is a very loving boy with lots of energy.

PENSACOLA AND SURROUNDING AREAS ONLY!

Puppy foster(s) needed within driving distance to our Pensacola veterinarian. These puppies are 6 weeks old (4 males, 6 females) and are in need of foster homes until they are old enough to be legally adopted (8-9 weeks) and have been properly vetted (6 and 9 week vaccines and dewormed). Momma is a stray hound who wandered onto the property of a family with a full blood Rottie boy. They have kept momma through the pregnancy but do not have the funds or ability to vet them or find them homes. Momma is going to another rescue to be spayed and find her forever home.

Meet Friday! This sweet boy is at a shelter in Southern Alabama and we would love to be able to rescue him. However, we can't do so without a foster home. Would you like to be his foster?

We are looking for a home without cats or small dogs (we do not know how he is with them), or young children (we cannot temp test shelter dogs with children so we err on the side of caution). His shelter temp test was wonderful, he is a sweet young boy. And he is heart worm negative! He was picked up as a stray and was never claimed.

New year, new life, at least that is what Harley is hoping! This young boy is located at the Elmore County shelter in Wetumpka Alabama. He was found as a stray by a very nice family. They have other Rotties and tried to give Harley a new home but they realized 3 big dogs was just too much to handle, so Harley came in hoping for a new forever home.

Harley is about 18 months old, good with female dogs and kids. He isn't neutered yet and was a bit pushy when tested with other males (he actually peed on the other boy!). He is heart worm negative (hurray!!) and is very people friendly. He knows a few basic commands, walks on a leash but pulls, so he needs to learn some manners.

If you would like to foster Harley, please complete our application. This boy is ready to leave the shelter and start the journey to his new life!

Meet Trip. This boy was found wandering near Montgomery AL. He was taken to a local shelter and is hoping we can help get him out and safe. He went to the vet and got all of his shots and is scheduled for his neuter on January 6 and available for adoption after he is recovered. He is about a year old, heart worm negative with a docked tail.

HELP!! We urgently need a new foster home in the Pensacola area for Roxanne tonight! Her foster wants her gone now (she has never fostered and took a full time job that starts tomorrow).

She is going through heart worm treatment and has lung inflammation due to an allergic response to the dying worms. She needs a quiet home with someone who will be home with her. She has been through two foster homes and is struggling with severe separation anxiety from having to be moved so often in the last 6 months. She is the sweetest girl, gets along with medium and large male and female dogs. No cats or small dogs.

We need foster homes!!

I mean, seriously, just look at that face!! This little boy is named Oliver, Ollie for short. He was dumped by his owner and brought in by a neighbor. Unfortunately, they cannot keep him and desperately need to get him into rescue. Ollie is 6 months old and is a Rottweiler / Beagle mix. He has tons of energy and no structure or training on how to direct it. He also has not had any vetting, so we will be getting him to our vet as soon as we find him a foster home.

Do you have the time and energy to help Ollie become the very best boy he can be? If so, please complete our foster application! https://gulfcoastrottweilerrescue.org/foster-application/

UPDATE - Athena has found a new forever home! A family member came forward and offered to give this beautiful girl a home within her current family and friends.

Fairhope Alabama

This beautiful girl is looking for her forever family. Athena is 7 months old, up to date on shots, spayed, house and crate trained. Family circumstances have made the current owner make the hard decision to find her a new home. And we have very little time to do so.

She is very social and friendly, good with other dogs, people, older children. She has not been around small animals (dogs, cats, chickens) or small children. Athena is still very much a puppy with puppy energy. She likes to run and play and hang out with her people.

We do require that all adopters meet the dog before we place them in the home. this includes all family members and other dogs. Because of this, we would prefer applicants live within 200 miles of the dog's location. If you do, and are interested in adopting Athena, please complete our pre-adoption application: https://gulfcoastrottweilerrescue.org/pre-adoption-application/

Located in Crestview Florida (in the Panhandle near Pensacola)

Sometimes in rescue we get contacted to help a wonderful dog who is loved and cared for, but circumstances are such that they need to find a new home. Sadly, this is the case for Odin. His little human boy has become increasingly more allergic to him. They have tried medication and grooming and everything than can think of, but the allergy is just getting worse. So, the family is having to make the horrible decision to find Odin a new home.

I went and met him and, honestly, he is probably in my top 5 of the most amazing Rottie I have evaluated for rescue. He is a 110 pound happy, social, incredible teddy bear of a dog. I watched him play with his little boy and he was so patient and tolerant. He let him take bones out of his mouth, wasn't trying to steal food, his nubby was just wiggling and he was so happy.

He is 4 years old and good with other dogs, both big and little (he plays with a family member's Chihuahua and lived with a pittie). He has lived with chickens and chased them for play but was never harmful to them. And, obviously, he is wonderful with little children. He needs some additional leash training and does bounce when he gets excited. He is 4 years old and has the demeanor of a puppy, playful and loving. Honestly, I can see Odin being trained to be an amazing service dog. He just has that Rottie demeanor of calm, solid strength. Nothing phased him.

If you would like to add Odin to your family, please complete our pre-adoption application: https://gulfcoastrottweilerrescue.org/pre-adoption-application/. We will be processing applications and involving the family in selecting his new home. They are heartbroken but know this is the best for their son and for Odin.

URGENT!! Medical Foster Needed in the Pensacola Area

Looking for a quiet home for a sweet girl to get healthy. We are needing to move Roxanne to a new foster home. She is currently in a home with two other Rotties but she is high heart worm positive and needs a quiet home so she can go through treatment. She has not been spayed due to her heart worm status and is on medication for lung inflammation from the dying worms.

Roxanne is super sweet, very social, loves cuddles and kisses and to just be with someone who will care for her. All of her medical costs are covered by the rescue, we are just looking for a kind person to love and pamper her. This girl has had a rough life and deserves a soft place and kind people.
