Update 9/18 8:30pm: Found and safe!!!
For everyone asking how he was found:
We last saw Jasper on Abbie Lane today so that spot was one we frequently returned to. At 8:30pm (34 hours after his escape) he was spotted at the end of Abbie Lane by Davis Animal Hospital owner’s April and Nate. They watched him slip through a gate at the end of the lane and kept the thermal imaging camera on him as they phoned his Mom and Dad who were searching nearby. When they arrived everyone proceeded to move forward with the thermal camera tracking and Mom and Dad squeaking toys and calling him. Jasper was running around making sure to take one last lap before the most joyous reunion in the world took place! He was immediately transported to the animal hospital for an exam to make sure he was well. He is now home (and probably sleeping) after all of Olympic sprinting events today! We are all overjoyed and thanking God for the best possible outcome today!
♥️A HUGE thank you to our amazing community of animal lovers who came together to make this happen. Thank you for searching. Thank you for lifting us up and giving us hope. Thank you for keeping us encouraged, for defending us, for caring so deeply.
♥️ Thank you especially to Jasper’s parents who gave us grace when we needed it and understanding when we felt like we didn’t deserve it.
Update: After our awesome Sheriff Chip W. Simmons looked into the matter of trespassing on the property to get Jasper, he found the officer in question was not a deputy with the Escambia County Sheriff's Office and was in fact an off duty officer with another agency. Our ECSO deputies maintain a 100% dog loving position! We are happy they showed up to de-escalate the situation for the Jasper recovery team. Living in a community where your local Sheriff cares enough to check up on a situation when it doesn't seem right, and then to pick up the phone and call you personally, is outstanding and so very appreciated ❤️
