I am Shelby Midthun, a Biology teacher and animal care practitioner in Minnesota's lake country. I was born and raised in Cody, WY where I spent most of my childhood exploring in the mountains and riding my family's horses. Throughout college I worked on a ranch that introduced me to cutting horses, played polo at the University of Wyoming and was a part of the North Dakota State University wester
n equestrian team. I graduated from NDSU with a bachelor's degree in Zoology with an emphasis in animal behavior and wildlife management. Following college graduation I had a variety of jobs within the equine and agricultural community, from ranch hand to loper to working for a rodeo company to a cattle station hand in Australia to Wyoming Game and Fish. I ultimately discovered I had a huge passion for education and returned to school for my master's degree in Science Education. I have been teaching high school biology and life sciences for two years and absolutely love being an educator. Despite no longer working full time in the equine/ag world my love for it has not lessened. I have a 3 year old Quarter Horse and two dogs that I spend as much of my time with as possible. I'm hoping to share my passion and experience with those around me and help improve the wellbeing of the animals of lake country by offering MagnaWave and massage.
