Dear Residents and Businesses of the Village of Pemberville,
The Village has been informed by First Energy that there will be a complete shutdown of electricity to the Village Monday, December 16, 2024.

If you pay a Village of Pemberville utility bill, this will include you.

This will be a complete shutdown of the power to the entire village scheduled to be between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm in order to power up the newly restored north substation on College Avenue.

Since the Village buys our electricity from First Energy (we distribute) we are at their mercy regarding the timing of this shut-off. It is asked that you prepare for this outage in advance by taking basic preventative measures, such as charging your phones, making arrangements if you have medical needs that require electricity, or refraining from doing anything that an interruption of power could ruin.

If you have your telephone on VOIC, please know that you will NOT have phone service. (cell phones should be fine) The bank will not be able to process any transactions, and the stores and restaurants will most likely not be open for business.

If you have a neighbor or friend that you typically look after, you may want to consider reaching out in advance of this scheduled shutdown.

Update: We've never had to cancel last minute in almost 2 years. So I am so so sorry to have to do so today, but we're going to have to cancel the nail trims.

Shoot! Forgot to remind ya'll good folks that our monthly $10 nail trim at Zoom Room Dog Training is tomorrow! 10 to noon.

**UPDATE** PEANUT HAS BEEN ADOPTED BY HER FOSTERER AND SHE IS DOING GREAT!

Update as of Friday, November 1st at 5 pm. We just got the results of Miss Peanut's bloodwork. Her sodium and potassium were low so the vet would like to do a ACTCH test to determine if she has Addison's disease. If you would like to contribute to her vet care, you can make donations at www.sanduskycountydogkennel.com As soon as we have more information, we will update again.

Miss Peanut is doing very well. Her stray hold is up. She has a follow up appointment on Thursday with the vet to make sure all is good. We will continue to update you.

UPDATE: Little Peanut is doing well. She has been placed with a medical foster and we will wait and see if an owner comes forward.

UPDATE: Still looking for the owner. Peanut is at the vet's getting fluids and some TLC. The vet's office is shaving her down, and giving her a bath so she starts feeling better. For all the people calling and asking whether or not she is microchipped, she is NOT microchipped.

The devastation is ongoing. My heart aches for everyone. So much pain.

The Rainbow Bridge in North Carolina encountered severe damage, resulting in its complete destruction. This unfortunate incident evokes a profound sense of sadness.

The Rainbow Bridge held a distinct significance within the Flowering Bridge garden in North Carolina. Situated over the Rocky Broad River, it served as a connective element between Lake Lure and Chimney Rock.

The Rainbow Bridge was a sanctified site where individuals could leave mementos such as collars, tags, and personal items in remembrance of their cherished pets who had passed away. It functioned as a sacred space for bidding farewell and perpetuating the memory of beloved companions.

Animal rescue organizations across the United States are collaborating to establish an appropriate facility to perpetuate the tradition of providing comfort and support to beloved pets as they transition to the afterlife.

Jackie here. Day 2 post-op. My gait is steadier! I can rely on my right leg more. Cramped swallowing and the upper back/shoulder tightness are my major complaints now. Even my lower back tightness has allayed. Feeling hopeful. ❤️

Surgery went well. Still hard to get comfortable due to muscle tightness in neck and across shoulders, but much better than during recovery. That was horrible. No neck brace. Was home by 2:30pm. A ways to go, but feeling hopeful.
