Originally from Madeira Island, Portugal. My Faja de Ovelha fig is in its 3rd year and appears to be a very productive tree with 30+ fruits. 1 of 9 varieties I have in 16" pots, with 4 more ready to be up-potted.

I also have a 2nd year tree in the ground that has yet begun to produce. It is one of 35 I have in ground for evaluation. I began this process 3 years ago with production really just beginning this year on the older trees. The evaluations continue.

The mighty Celeste Fig. Pruned in the middle of January to loaded with figs in May. Harvest of small sugar figs is anticipated to begin in mid to late June.

It will become rather large without pruning. It is a cold hardy tree and only during "Snow-megeddon" in 2021 was it frozen to the ground but re-grew from the roots and produced fruit, although later in the season.
