💔💔💔 RED PAW ALERT - SOPHIE 💔💔💔

When Sophie arrived, we took a step back. Obese, but we deal with that all the time. It was the huge mass on her chest that rang the alarm. Large, ulcerated and clearly a cause for concern. Her mass measured 5 inches in diameter. Steps need to be taken! She is so loving and special…. How can we not address her pain?

Her pain has become a constant and it is time to get to Red Bank Veterinary and address her urgent issue. Getting the right surgery and getting it in a timely matter means everything to us for Sophie. The large mass is keeping her from enjoying life and the constant ulcerations represent a risk of infection. Just look into those eyes; how can you not lend her a hand?

Sophie needs surgery and she needs it as quickly as possible. The risk of infection, the constant pain…this little one needs help now. On the rescue side of the fence, we use two words to describe Sophie’s solution: very expensive. So today, we are turning to the DRBC Gang to help. 💜💜💜 PURPLE PAW UPDATE - TOBY 💜💜💜

So we have some good news on Toby. He is up, walking and straining far less when he defecates! It will take a few months before he is fully recovered from his complex surgery. This little love is a real fighter :)

He has a long road ahead to reverse the enlarged prostate that occured to a lack of neutering at the appropriate age, but we have faith that he will get there. Our costs to save him are still a big issue for DRBC. Please lend your support and send him your love and support as he continues on hhis path of recovery. Go Toby!

Say hello to little Beau! He and his deaf brother, Roux joined us this past weekend. This bonded pair of brothers are so much fun and are just filled with love. It won't be long till they are looking for their forever home.

This little boy could sure use some help as he joins us...he will need veterinary support, food, a new collar and so much more. All gifts are tax deductible and so appreciated.

Look who is checking in....it's Stella!! This little girl faced so much abuse and neglect before she came to us and she now is trying to work through those issue. So sad.

Every week we try and feature our sanctuary our GrandPaw puppers. These are doxies that have come to us and will never be eligible for adoption. They are too old, too sick or have behavior issues that pose a risk making them unadoptable. They receive all our love and support and are treated as family members.

Hi Gang! We are seeing more and more diabetic senior doxies coming into DRBC these days. We love to help, but it is sooo expensive. Six weeks of food is $125, then we have the insulin [$55], the lab testing and sensors [$425 per quarter] 🙁. We have 5 diabetics in the sanctuary system now and have another one requesting our help. We are hoping you can help us out today....even a small gift has a big impact. Thanks Gang!

💔💔💔 RED PAW UPDATE - TOBY 6 💔💔💔

Toby has had his surgery and continues to improve! Woo-hoo. Still not off the medical list here, Toby is now walking without pain and is eating like a doxie should. This was a rough one for Toby; always remember the importance of spay/neuter...all of this could have been prevented :(. We will keep you posted on this little charmer but today, please lend a hand with his life saving surgery. Follow the link below and join Team Toby. Make a difference as only the DRBC Gang can!

When Toby arrived at our rescue, he was emaciated, depressed, and clearly in severe pain. He desperately needed help before it was too late. We learned that he had 2 hernia and a massively enlarged prostate. He has so much difficulty moving his bowels - it is painful to watch. He desperately needed this surgery.

Sadly, we are not near our goal. Come on DRBC Gang! Please rise to the occasion... this little one needs you. Prayers and well wishes just won't do it. Please care, share and tell everyone you know. Toby and so many that need this type of care are counting on the DRBC Gang to come through for him!

So we have a cautionary tale on one special GrandPaws pupper...Miss Isabela. Recently she felt a little sick and was rushed into us with no time to spare. The diagnosis...Leptospirosis! Current vaccines prevent 4 of 5 of the strains of Lepto from taking hold and ending life, but she seems to have contracted the unprotected strain. [All DRBC puppers are vaccinted for Lepto.] She has a long road ahead to reverse the acute renal failure that comes with this disease. Our costs to save her will exceed $2500 in lab work and supportive care. Please lend your support and send her your love and encouragement as she continues on her path of recovery. Go Izzy!

With excessive heat warnings in Las Vegas this week, we can’t stress enough the importance of keeping pets safe! ☀️ 🌡️ 🔥

🐾 Keep your pet’s paws safe and OFF hot asphalt and pavement.

🥵 Watch for signs of heatstroke such as rapid breathing, weakness, bright red gums and tongue. Cool pets down with a cool (NOT cold) wet towel on their paws and belly.

🚗 Don’t leave your pet in the car, even in the shade and even for a few minutes. Just don’t.
