🌟It’s National Kitten Day, and there's no better way to celebrate than by showing off our brave, quirky, sweetest little girl we've recently took in: Starla 🌟
She came to us with some sniffles and a congenital deformity in her back legs, in which they don't fully extend. Despite those initial challenges, Starla just received a clean bill of health!🎉 We were also shown how to help with her legs by doing some gentle stretches for her too!
Between her first vet visit of $87 and ongoing care, we’re aiming to raise $200 to support her journey. If you’d like to help give this little star the bright future she deserves, we’d be so incredibly grateful💖

Swipe ⬅️ to see before and after.
Hello?! Is this even the same girl?! 🐱✨
Thanks to our incredible community of donors, Blanche is thriving once again.

At 18 years old, our oldest lady is living her 9th life. No more inflamed gums, her coat is soft and shiny, and she’s looking plump and healthy. She’ll stay on her anti-inflammatory meds for life, but what a life she’s getting to live!

It’s truly amazing to witness this kind of transformation. Thank you for loving her with us and giving her another chance💛🧡

So remember how I announced yesterday that Moose was going to the vet today due to him not eating for a few days? Well, he casually strolled over to his bowl this morning and decided to eat again🎉 And look at him snooze, not having any idea of how concerned I was and on the verge of a panic attack😭🤣😂 We went ahead and canceled the appointment but will continue to observe diligently. Thank you to everyone who sent well wishes. Clearly, Moose was listening🩶🤍

Moose hasn’t had much of an appetite over the weekend, which is very unlike him😔 He’s usually the first to show up for food, so we’re concerned. He’s heading to the vet tomorrow to get checked out. Please keep him in your thoughts🙏🏻🤍

We went to the vet yesterday with Ella to address her fluctuating appetite and ongoing GI issues. I meant to share this update yesterday, but I just couldn’t bring myself to post💔

Ella came to us after spending several months at the clinic, where she was lovingly cared for by the incredible staff. She had chronic GI issues and they tried everything to resolve, but nothing truly worked. I took her in fully aware of that, ready to love her as she is.

Yesterday, our vet shared that Ella most likely has either severe scar tissue from long-term intestinal inflammation, or intestinal lymphoma. The only way to confirm would be through an ultrasound or surgical biopsy—both invasive and expensive procedures that wouldn’t change the course of treatment. Our vet gently advised against pursuing further testing. All treatment options have already been explored at this point.

The topic of euthanasia was brought up as well. We understand the toll it takes on her body of not having full control of your bowels, and truthfully, the toll it takes to constantly clean floors, furniture, cat trees, and bedding every day.

But for now, Ella came back home with me.

We’re going to keep taking it day by day. Showering her with gentle care, food, treats, and love in the remaining time she has here🩷

Yesterday’s visit came to $87. If you’d like to support Ella’s continued care, donations mean so much. Other ways to donate will be in the comment. Thank you for loving her with us.

Look at Ella proudly showing off her empty bowl!🎉 Ella was originally scheduled for a vet visit last week, but graciously gave up her spot when Blanche needed urgent care.

Ella's appetite still comes and goes (plus she can be a bit picky), and with her chronic GI issues, we want to make sure we’re doing everything we can to help her feel her best.

We have a vet appointment scheduled for her next Monday. Please keep this sweet senior girl in your thoughts! We’ll keep you updated💛

Miss Teapot launched herself into the cupboard and claimed territory, breaking a plate in the process🫠 (No one was hurt and she looks so pleased.)

We do have child-safe locks on our cupboard, but of course, this happened on the one morning I forgot to lock it🤦🏻‍♀️

This is why we now stick to only buying not-so-aesthetically pleasing plastic or stainless steel plates. But this is life at Suncatcher Sanctuary and we wouldn't have it any other way.
Every day is a little chaotic. A little messy. And often involves a cat making bold life choices🤣

Summer is creeping in... and we are not ready.
Triple digits, the weather app flashing Excessive Heat Warning daily, and we’re bracing ourselves for the long desert summer ahead. ☀️🌵

Our AC is running around the clock to make sure the cats stay safe and cool — comfort is especially important for our senior and special needs residents💛

We also have catnip and toys prepared, but always looking for new ways to keep our cats enriched and entertained especially during these long hot months.

How do you keep your cats happy, cool, and engaged when it’s too hot to move?
We’d love to hear your summer enrichment ideas⬇️⬇️⬇️

We had quite the unexpected morning at the vet💨
Ella was originally scheduled to go in today for her low appetite, but we had a switch of plans after noticing something concerning with Blanche over the weekend. Her tongue was sticking out and the corners of her mouth looked swollen. Thankfully, Ella's appetite has started to return (yay!), so we were able to focus on Blanche instead.

After a thorough exam, we got some relieving news: no tumor, no cancer—just severe inflammation. Her ears were also bothering her, so we came home with a full med kit: anti-inflammatories, antibiotics, and ear ointment. Surgery isn't a safe option for her senior body, so we’ll be managing her condition with medication and lots of love to keep her feeling comfy. 💕

Blanche was such a little charmer during her exam, and totally earned her post-exam nap🥹

Today’s vet visit came out to $284.20. If you’re able, please consider donating or sharing about this fundraiser! Your support helps us keep sweet seniors like Blanche healthy and comfortable in their golden years.

🧡 Thank you always for rooting for our Suncatchers.
