We are devastated to share that Fairy passed away yesterday after her surgery. I had received the call that the surgery had gone well, and her pickup was scheduled just a couple of hours later. But when I arrived, the doctor told me she had passed only minutes before. I was in such shock that much of the conversation afterward is a blur, though I remember being told that everything had gone well with the surgery but her heart was unable to keep up post op.

I’m at a loss. This isn’t the way I wanted to tell her story. Fairy had beaten so many odds, and I wanted to watch her thrive and experience the life she deserved after enduring so much. Losing her this way feels like the most bitter reminder of how unfair life can be. Her pain free, happy life was just about to begin and it’s shattering to think she couldn’t stay with us a bit longer.

The final bill for her surgery was $1141.
To everyone who loved, supported, and cared for Fairy and shared in her journey—I want to thank you. Your support meant the world to her and to all of us here. You helped us give her the best care and a chance to know she was loved, even if her time with us was short. I’m deeply grateful for your kindness and even more deeply sorry to be sharing this news.

This morning, we dropped off Fairy to the vet for her eye surgery. After a thorough check-up, the doctor advised us to move forward with a bilateral enucleation, which means both of her eyes will be removed. Her smaller eye was showing signs of infection and could cause more issues in the future, so this decision was made to ensure she won't have to deal with any more discomfort or pain. Since Fairy is already blind, this procedure will help her live more comfortably without the risk of recurring infections.

The updated procedure adds $500 to the original estimate, and we’re so grateful for everyone who has already donated or shared her story. Your love and support mean everything, and it’s because of you that Fairy is getting the care she needs.

Fairy recently visited the vet for a follow-up (which was already covered thanks to your incredible support from our last fundraiser) after experiencing two painful eye ruptures. Unfortunately, due to recurring fluid buildup, she will need to undergo eye enucleation surgery to alleviate her discomfort. We’ve scheduled her surgery for Monday, and we’re doing everything we can to ensure she gets the care she needs. 🩺💜

The estimated cost for the procedure, which includes her spay and medication, is $907. We’ll adjust the final cost post-surgery, but we would love to get the fundraiser started to ensure we can cover the cost.

We want to take a moment to reflect on the love and support we’ve received from our wonderful community. Thanks to your generosity, we reached our fundraising goal for Tweety and Priscilla’s end-of-life care in just one day.

Tweety and Priscilla were truly cherished by all of you, and your support has shown how much their lives mattered. It’s a reminder of the importance of compassion and care for our senior and special needs cats, who deserve to feel loved in their final days.

Sunset Care is about giving senior cats the dignity and warmth they deserve, making their final days beautiful. It was an honor to care for Tweety and Priscilla, and we couldn’t have done it without your support. 💕

We did it! 🎉 Thanks to the kindness and generosity of our amazing community, we’ve reached our fundraising goal and paid off Fairy’s first medical bill, allowing us to continue her care! 🌟

Unfortunately, Fairy’s right eye recently ruptured, and she will be heading back to the vet for a recheck next week. We’re hopeful and will keep doing everything we can to make sure she’s comfortable and happy. 💖

Fairy is a little fighter, and her playful, gentle spirit continues to inspire us every day. Thank you for helping us care for her and all our Suncatchers. We couldn’t do this without you! 🐾✨

Fairy joined us three months ago and is settling in beautifully. She was found as a stray and has vision impairment, but that hasn’t stopped her playful spirit! We’re raising $166.50 for her medical bill. Reaching the goal will allow us to make an appointment for her recheck.

We’re excited to share that Millie and Dusk recently had their spay and neuter procedures done. While many organizations request an intake or surrender fee when taking in cats (which may cover the fee of basic fee of spay/ neuter), here at Suncatcher Sanctuary, we understand that times are tough, and we don’t believe in asking for money from compassionate people who have already saved a cat’s life. 💖

We’ve come across heartbreaking stories where people were fundraising just to afford surrender fees, all while simply trying to do the right thing for a stray. That’s why we don’t ask for fees upfront, but instead, we rely on the kindness of our community to support the care these cats need.

The cost for Millie and Dusk’s spay and neuter was $165. We are reaching out to our amazing supporters for donations to help cover this cost and continue our mission of caring for both our current and future Suncatchers.

After taking a brief break to process some grief, I will slowly resume our work. During this time, I had a moment to reflect on just how much I appreciate the Suncatchers. Caring for 25+ cats and 3 dogs can be tough, but it’s also one of the greatest blessings in my life. These little souls bring so much joy, even in the darkest moments. Today, I wanted to share a smile with my favorite senior duo, Daisy Daisy Underbite and Tweety. 🐾 They remind me daily of the love and comfort that comes from caring for those who need it most.
