Our 1st day at our new 2.5 acre horse property!🏡🐴!🙌

This was a loooong time coming!!! We were finally able to get our place after trying and trying for a few years! So thankful to God for setting this up for us! 🙏🤩😁

The animals and the birds are so happy with grass, trees and cooler weather! 🌿💚🌲🌳

Mottled hen in need of a special needs home. Has a lame leg and can’t get around well so will need a special enclosure. She is 4 months old but is the size of a 1 month old chick. She is fat and healthy otherwise with a nice appetite but looks to have a double dwarf gene which has limited her vertical growth. She was hatched from shipped eggs and is the sweetest thing.

✨Not a chicken but a duck post✨

I NEVER liked ducks. 🦆Didn’t know anything about them. Never had one and wasn’t interested in having them! Other chicken people said they were very messy and not to bother with them so I didn’t. 💩

Well about 2 months ago Hubby brought a tiny WILD duckling home!! 😬 He saw it upside down and barely alive in a local pool and got it out. The mother who was nearby wanted nothing to do with it.

I told him not to bring it home! 🙅‍♀️We never had ducks and I knew nothing about raising them. And honestly I felt I didn’t have time between all the animals we already have! But hubby brought it home anyway!🙄🤦

Fast forward to now. Duckling turned into a beautiful mallard female duck! (Not sure what to call a female duck)😅 She is a little shy of people but LOVES our Silkies and hangs out with them all day. 🐓If I knew that ducks were so sweet, gentle and QUIET I would have got 1 long time ago! Not sure how long she will stay with us or if she will choose to fly 🦅away when she’s ready but she is part of the family for now! 💕

Someone come get these Silkie babies before Bruno the Doberdog gets upset!!!🤦‍♀️🐶🤣
He loves to watch over all our birds but babies especially and gets upset if you try to mess with them too much! 🐥🐥🐥He only allowed me a short clip before he had enough.😅

Since we had such an overwhelming response to our Serama hen post yesterday I’ve decided to only keep a few of our breeders and part with the rest! ✨✨✨✨✨
Our BIG MOVE up North is going to be stressful for everyone and I would not want to put my girls through it!🙏

This is a reminder that these hens were in breeding pens and extremely broody! This means they have lost some feathers and weight and need to be conditioned! I will give priority to locals 1st before I decide to ship because shipping is hard on birds! There is a discount if you get 3 or more. Some need to go as specific groups because they are bonded. Had a horrible day yesterday with losing 4 Silkie hens to heat exhaustion(3 from Mottled, 1 White) in the moving process. Silkies have a harder time handling AZ heat and I should have known they won’t be fine in the transport like our Seramas. Lesson learned.

But this picture right here made me not want to throw in the towel. These babies hatched this morning from the fun pen. Beautiful heads and look at those perfect toes! Oh I just love them!🥹💕
