One of the sweetest videos you will see today!
Makayla has been around dogs since she was a tiny baby and loves helping her family when they foster puppies for our rescue. Even though back in school, she makes time before bed to read the pups a bed time story. It warms our hearts to see the love Makayla has for dogs.

Travis is a sweet, affectionate and playful boy. HARTT saved him from the streets and brought him to AZSDR early in the summer. In August, he had a Balloon Valvuloplasty to repair a heart defect. He bounced back quickly and hasnât looked back! He loves to run around the backyard with his puppy friends at his fosterâs home. After wearing himself out in the yard or playing his favorite game of banana toy chase, he likes to snuggle up with his favorite stuffed dog. He is also a cuddly sleeper!
Travis is great with most other small dogs but would be best in a feline free family. Travis is mostly housebroken with frequent trips outside and close supervision. He will need some patience and training to get the rest of the way there.
He is a loud and relentless barker when it comes to noises and visitors. He is learning the âQuietâ command and his foster figured out he quiets down much quicker if he is picked up and allowed to meet (sniff) the person who entered the room. He is great with older kids, but his barking can be overwhelming for small children.
Travis requires medication for his heart twice a day for a couple more months. If you are interested in meeting him, please fill out an application: https://azsmalldog.org/adoption-form/

We wanted to share how Misty is doing since the surgery for her broken jaw. Misty is doing amazing and honestly, we cannot tell she ever had an issue. She is still recovering and has a couple more rechecks left, but so far, her surgery has been successful. Her foster mom and taken such great care of her, and we cannot wait to see her fully healed. Thank you to everyone who donated and shared, without you we could not have saves Misty, or the many more dogs before and after her.
