West Mutt Strut Dog walkers help provide the shelter dogs exercise, fresh air, praise, and most of all, the human companionship they are desperately longing for.

Dogs at the shelter wait days, weeks, and sometimes months for a home. A simple walk can make a world of difference for them. Dog walkers help provide the dogs exercise, a change of scenery, praise, and most of all – the human companionship they are desperately longing for. The West Mutt Strut is the 3rd Sunday of every month at Maricopa County Animal Care and Control – West location at 8:45am. Th

ere is a designated walking path you can follow at your pace or choose a fenced play yard for a game of fetch with your pooch. The walk ends at 11:00am, you can choose to walk the same dog for the duration or come back and give a second (maybe even a third) a chance to get out and stretch their legs! Please watch our page for monthly signup post. You will need to comment on that post to be counted, we must limit the number of participants. All ages are welcome, however, anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Only ages 16+ will be allowed to handle dogs.
