Polaris competed in her first event ever at the USEA Horse Trial at the Bucks County Horse Park today with Mason Reidy and came in 4th overall in Beginner Novice! A huge thank you to Mason for all of the work he has put into her, and for giving her such a great first experience! Polaris looked like a pro in all of her Forestier Sellier USA tack thanks to Guillaume Forestier Sellier. After an ice soak and lots of treats, she’s ready for the next one! Thank you to her fan club that came out today and supported her and cheered her on!

We welcomed two new faces yesterday- Carl and Nicky! I think their personalities are pretty obvious!

Polaris has been at summer camp for the past two weeks with Mason Reidy while I have been recovering from surgery, and today I was able to watch her school. I’m so happy with how she is progressing and grateful to have Mason bringing her along so nicely!

Last night we had to unexpectedly say goodbye to Runner. He has been in the family for over 20 years first as my horse and then as my mom’s. Even though we made the best decision for him, it doesn’t make it any easier and he will be missed greatly.

Polaris’ 8 month glow up! The first photo was taken August of last year, and the second was yesterday- thanks to our Nutrena rep for finding the perfect diet to help with both weight and muscling, Mason Reidy and his help under saddle, and Guillaume Forestier Sellier for making sure both Polaris and I have high quality tack that fits perfectly. Yesterday was the perfect day for our first trip to the horse park, and Polaris was in her element! I am so excited to see what she can accomplish this year!

Polaris was an impulse buy on Black Friday (hence her show name) because of her pedigree. I gave her time to be a horse and grow up, and she unintentionally was put on the back burner for a while. She was an extremely nervous horse and I started taking her to the horse park regularly last April to build her confidence and saw how much she loved being out and going cross country. When the Camp Windurra with Boyd Martin opportunity arose, I couldn’t pass it up and chose Polaris because of her interest in eventing and I would also get so much experience taking a young, green horse to it. To be totally honest, the thought of selling Polaris was in the back of my mind; she could be very anxious and I wasn’t sure I could dedicate the time she needed and deserved, and eventing wasn’t something I was very familiar with. Camp Windurra changed everything for both me and her, and realized Polaris has more potential than I thought. Thanks to Boyd, we were connected with Mason at CMP Eventing.

The past 8 months have been getting her physically and mentally to where she needs to be so she can enter the start box this year, and I couldn’t have done it without Mason’s help. I will unfortunately be sidelined for a few months for shoulder surgery, but will be cheering Polaris and Mason on from the sidelines!

With all of her changes, the fitting of her saddle from August didn’t work anymore. Guillaume Forestier Sellier and Forestier Sellier USA took out the old panels and replaced it with new custom-measured foam and had it back to us in a week! The adjustments have made a world of difference and I’m so fortunate to be partnered with Forestier!

I am so grateful to have such amazing and talented clients! A couple of weeks ago I asked maryalice.moroz if she could sew padded covers for my saddle rack for me. Today she delivered covers that were beyond perfect (and in my colors!!!!)! My forestiersellierusa saddles are padded and protected beautifully now!
